"And, uh... I want to warn you all of the threats we've faced this past moon," Mirepurr is saying, voice wobbly even as they attempt to control it. Their eyes are sharply focused on a specific point in the back of the warriors' den — right between the space of Lilacfur's ears.
It had been an idea that made an awful lot of sense. Smogstar had requested them to attend in their stead... up above the Great Oak, slotted right between just as impressive giants, in the presence of star-blessed leaders. In no world would Mirepurr be able to refuse, but their limbs had shook with nerves the moment they excused themself from his den. Public speaking... arguably not the worst thing by far, especially with some sort of experience gained as a deputy, but they had never been in this position before. Talking on Smogstar's behalf and recalling their Clan's lives since the last full moon; grandiose and not for somebody like Mirepurr.
And thus the idea had been born. Practice makes perfect, does it not? Lilacfur is their victim — unwilling or not, it had not mattered. Mirepurr had inched close enough to her with their requests for their breaths to intertwine and dance between the small distance from one another. Mirepurr can be surprisingly persuasive. Lilacfur had no choice.
Mirepurr has been doing... fine. Satisfactory. They still stammer more than they would like to, but they came far since their first attempt.
Then, they make a mistake; their gaze flits to Lilacfur's, and involuntarily, a smile disrupts the carefully picked out words and structure. "The most dangerous of them all- hide your WindClanners, because Lilacfur is coming for them." Mirepurr's paw raises to swat at the air — a not-so-impressive retelling of Lilacfur's slap a few moons back.
