camp wintersneeze ;; sickness.

Curled up in her nest, it was a bit odd for her to be sleeping so late in the day. With the sun pouring over the trees in the distance, casting a dull glow on the camp in front of her, she was surprised how she hadn't woken up earlier. Blaming it on Coldsnap no longer being her apprentice, that she had too much free-time. A soft grunt wakes up the molly, snorting herself out of sleep; head bobbing up and down in confusion as she squints crusted eyes at the camp. Then, as if spurred on by the gust of cold wind, a loud sneeze sounded from Hyacinth's tiny body, the lead warrior grumbling softly to herself. A hacking cough soon came after, the stubborn warrior standing to her paws to walk out of the den. Her steps wobbled her, paws tripping over themselves as she finally collapses on the ground. Still breathing, despite the raspiness of each breath. Perhaps she shouldn't have stayed out in the rain for so long last night..

// feel free to powerplay carrying her to dandelion's den! she will wake back up within the next few replies.
tldr; hya's sick, probably with a mild cold (that could turn worse if i carry on with her overworking herself). she passed out in camp. <3

( ) oh no. oh no oh no oh no. did hyacinthbreath just die? bewilderment was obvious on blackpaw's face. he shook himself free of the shock and padded over to her hesitantly. her sides were still moving, she wasn't dead. despite how bad this was too, he couldn't help but feel relieved. now he needed to find a way to get her to the medicine den, easy enough if he dragged her, but that didn't feel kind or respectful. so instead he looked around, hoping one of his clanmates had noticed as well "can anyone help me carry her? i can't get her onto my own back" he crouched again, watching her flank move up and down gently. surely she wasn't on the brink of death right this moment, maybe she just needed some water and food. he'd felt dehydrated enough to pass out before. his head was whirring with thoughts, he wasn't close to the she-cat in any way but she was one of windclan's lead warriors, and they'd suffered enough tragedy lately.
( DO I SOUND LIKE A JOKE WHEN IM TALKING TO YOU )

a lead warrior collasping right outside the den was never good sign. the thud produced from hyacinthbreath's body hitting the ground would grab the attention of shrewpaw who was heading towards the fresh-kill pile to grab something to eat. food can wait.

"ah. . .that ain't good. ah'll go get mah brother." with that, the apprentice had turned sharply upon her paws and bounded over towards the medicine den where she'd promptly disappear. surely her brother wasn't busy with anything.

"dandy, we got an issue—hyacinthbreath done collasped on the ground. ah reckon she might be sick."

Leechpaw had just returned back from a patrol with his mentor when he spotted Hyacinthbreath's collapsed form in camp. His thoughts started to race as he hurried himself over to stop beside Blackpaw to stare down on thier lead warriors body, his eyes searching for any sign of life, any sign of her stomach rising up and down...it did. Leechpaw started to breath again, not even realising he had been holding his own breath. " I will help you." he would mumble to Blackpaw after a moment of complete silence, and he would crounch down on Hyacinthbreath other side and gave a nod to Blackpaw to lift her body up to his back. Leechpaw migh not be the biggest in the clan but he was tall with a long body. He was sure he could carry Hyacinthbreath on his back since she was rather small in size if Blackpaw could get her up on his back. If he could then they could bring her to the medicine cat den there Shrewpaw and Dandelionpaw would be waiting for them.

He felt like he had been on autopilot since that night, going through the actions out of instinct and habit alone. Every so often he would look up expectantly and turn, as if searching for someone there only to be met with the empty den. Dandelionpaw frowned as he did it once again and then looked back to the moss at his paws with a huff, he really needed to get his head back together, really needed to stop being so distracted. Right now he needed to figure out where he had stashed the poppy seeds he'd gathered the night before; having been too tired to sort them and was now paying for his laziness by not recalling where his sleep adled mind had tucked them away. Curse you, past Dandelionpaw, you're nothing but trouble.
His looking about was interupted, head lifting up in alarm at Shrewpaw suddenly in the den and speaking anad he flattened his ears at what he heard. "What? Collapsed? Did she done work 'erself to much again?" He swore some of the cats in this clan just wanted to give him a conniption fit.
The chocolate-masked tom moved to leave only to find Blackpaw and Leechpaw already making their way to the den with said lead warrior in tow. "Set'er down here-thank ye." His tail raised and slapped down the nest he had just cleaned the day prior thankfully.
Once settled in he raised a thoughtful paw to his mouth and watched the sleeping silver molly, ears twitching at the faintly ragged breathing and rasp that accompanied each inhale and exhale. Sounded like a cold, which was thankfully something he was familiar with enough to not feel too worried.
A gentle paw went out to try and nudge Hyacinthbreath awake, hoping the constantly prodding would be enough to rouse her.
"If ya'll ain't got duties to tend t'wouldn't mind sittin' a spell? Either side of'er-warm helps." If he could recommend a good cuddle for everything then he'd be pretty content with life really.

Eyelids flutter as eyes roll limply in eye sockets, fading in and out of consciousness- she hears the sound of talking, worried voices. A soft grumble escapes her lips as she's lifted up, tiny body like a feather upon the larger ones. It was wonder how she was so fearsome with her small size, so deadly. Skill, moons of training, probably. In her fading consciousness, she thinks she sees someone- a flicker of silver, of short legs, before she finally fades all the way out.

She wakes up to the feeling of being nudged, the familiar scent of herbs and Dandelionpaw greeting her nose. He asks those nearby to gather around her shaking, wheezing body, and Hyacinthbreath groans out in complaint. "I feel like Jaggedoak sat on me and suffocated me to death." She whines out, head lolling against the nest she was laid upon. Her paws knead at nothing, before a hacking cough left the molly's lips. She's shivering then, she notices- but it isn't from the cold, was it?

"Just give me.. Somethin' for the cough, and I'll on my way, Dandy. No need to waste herbs on me." Hyacinth grunts, pushing her paw out to try and right herself upwards.

I WANT SOMETHING JUST LIKE THIS

"Don't argue, Hyacinth. There's a reason Dandelionpaws the medicine cat and not you." He had meant to say the words with a touch of friendly jest, but they fell flat in lieu of the fact that Dusk just wasn't really in the mood to joke around. His head and heart were still heavy with the loss of Rosepaw and the departure of Inkylotus. It was the Deputys first time truly having to cope with the fact that someone he'd come to care about and like would no longer be around and despite his best attempts to not let it show, it fucking hurt like hell.

While the copper tomcat hadn't worn himself quite as ragged as Hyacinth had, there was a look of exhaustion that clung to Dusk as he settled beside the shecat to help keep her warm. He'd been avoiding the reality of things by just taking on as much work as he could, something he doubted was healthy, but hell, what else was he supposed to do? Everywhere he went there were memories of things he couldn't get back, and if he sat still long enough to let that sink in he knew it would drive him crazy.

windclan warrior - male - 20 months - homosexual - polyamorous - single - tall, strong bengal tomcat

"Reckon its a good thing he ain't done that cause with a cat that big ye'd be a smear on the ground. Thankfully, ain't the case. This is fixable." He's already preparing for the arguing, a goodnatured smile on his maw and inwardly he is speaking what he expects to hear before Hyacinthbreath even does so. 'I feel fine, don't worry.', 'This is probably just a cold, I'll be fine.' and his personal favorite: her exact words of 'Give me medicine and I'll go.'. Like stuffing leaves in her mouth was going to solve the problem, much as he wished that was the case it rarely ever was. The chocolate dipped tom prepares to launch into an argument when Duskfire appears, tone forceful and with a degree of coldness that he didn't usually hear from the deputy. Losing not only his apprentice but his mate in such a short time span had surely upset the tom. He made a mental note to check on the bengal later, cats tended to not take care of themselves the further into despair they fell.
"Reckon if ye want the title ye can have it. We can trade. Ah'll go be lead warrior and you sit here countin' plants all day." The apprentice rolled his shoulders in shrug of amusement, head turning to spit his wheat stem aside. "'Ah'll give ye medicine, but it won't work if ye don't rest long 'nough fer it to take. So stay in the nest."
The tom turned to go and fetch a strand of feverfew, holding it carefully by the stem and moving back to the silver molly's side to set it down for her.
"It's bitter. Fair warning."

Duskfire commands her to sit still, and Hyacinthbreath is about to turn and insult the tom for demanding her to do something- but the look on his face startles her. It's cold, lackluster of his usual facade- he'd been close to Inkylotus, but perhaps the tom would return. There was an awful lot of mates leaving their loved ones lately, she couldn't quite understand why outside of the environment of WindClan and people's disliking for Sootstar. Hyacinth lets her head rest on Duskfire's body with a grumble of complaint, wheezing a ragged breath before she clears her throat.

The joke about Jaggedoak smearing her from his size makes her snort, yanking a cough from her throat that she covers with a pale white paw. "WHEEZE.. Don't tell 'em you said that, he might just cry." Sarcastic was her voice as she watches Dandelionpaw bring over probably the only plant she knew of other than catnip and catmint. "Of course it's bitter, it's a plant." Hyacinth retorts, confusion in her gaze as he brings it over to her. She pokes at it with a paw, tail flicking beside her. "Do I just.. er.. Eat the whole thing?"

He had helpt to bring Hycinthbreath to the medicine cat den but once he entered inside started to feel sick. How many times had he not run in and out from this den only to found Rosepaw's body over there in the corner...No, he refused to look over where his friend nest had been and this sick feeling inside his stomach got stuck in his throat. He couldn't breath. Leechpaw felt like he was gonna suffocate in here...He needed to get out!. The apprentice quickly turned his back towards them all who was in there, unable to help any further then he already had done. " I....will be outside if you need me..." he said with a dry mouth, words struggling to found its way out from his mouth, and like that Leechpaw hurried himself out from the medicine cat den again there he could breath.

// short and out!
