So far, the day had been a rather uneventful one for Bat, having been left to his own devices as patrols were sent out much too early for him to accompany, and the hunting had already flown plentifully before he could manage to pull his weight. He contemplated leaving the confines of camp- the stifling nature of it usually driving him to utter insanity more often than not- however today was different, it seemed uncharacteristically quiet, a sense of infinitely rare peace washing over the rather average looking haven that was the SkyClan camp. He treasured the moment- harnessed it, his claws flexing in and out of their soft, pink sheaths as he relished the way the suns warmth seeped deep into his fur, the lush grass beneath him brushing up against his mahogany hocks recurrently, but not unpleasantly.
Yes, today was different. It could have even been...good. A term not often used by Bat to describe much of anything, much less the place he had been learning how to call home. It was so different from what he had grown so reluctantly accustomed to- but that life was behind him now, and he refused to allow himself to dwell on the past, on everything he could not change. His chest rose and fell in tune with the audible huff that escaped him, whether or not it was indicative of exasperation or content was debatable. He basked in the moment for a short time more, before the calm atmosphere was suddenly shattered by an unfamiliar presence- one that immediately shattered whatever illusion of momentary unperturbed demeanor he had been so graciously bestowed by whatever hypothetical higher power may have existed.
"Oi-!" He leaned back with a start, hackles prickling with unease- the unnamed she-cat was on him before he even had the opportunity to spring to his paws. With a furrowed brow shadowing an unsteady gaze, he waited in anticipation for something- anything- that may allude to this strangers intentions.
