PLOT

It was not love but infatuation that brought Bur and Chive together, and when Bur had learned she was pregnant, it was not responsibility but guilt that had kept Chive at her side. The prospect of parenthood frightened them both; Bur had valued her freedom and Chive valued his solitude, both of which were things that they would lose with the soon-to-be arrival of their nascent family. Still, the two of them vowed to do right by their family and raise their kits with love.

But it was a mere two moons after the kittens were born that tragedy struck the family-- rising tensions that escalated into a battle, the great battle as it would come to be called, and a father who would never return, fallen like so many others that day. With the death of Chive and the sudden changes in the marsh group that Bur had called her home, Bur began to pull away from her family. She would close herself off, present only in body, and long for the days when she wasn't so burdened. Bur would shirk the responsibilities of kit-raising onto her clanmates, content in the thought that she couldn't be neglecting her kits when they are otherwise provided for.​

RULES

❥ Kits will be starting out at 3 moons in age, and will age up on the 15th of every month.
❥ While there is no naming theme, names that represent plants, animals, and landscapes found in ShadowClan, or names that are physically descriptive are preferred.

◈ Names would have not been chosen with cruelty in mind. That being said, kittens may still be named after congenital defects.​

❥ There is no forum to fill out, I just ask that you include information like name, physical description, and personality.
❥ I ask that you consider their upbringing while crafting your character; neither of their parents would have been very present in their life, and the mother will eventually leave to be a kittypet once the kits are about halfway through their apprenticeship.
❥ Slots will not be first come first serve. Chosen characters will be decided on the 4th of September.​

  ↪ chanterellekit is nothing impressive; he would call himself 'average at best'. he is neither tall nor short, instead leveling out just an inch or two below average. his frame mirrors the typical image of a shadowclanner; skinny, nearly malnourished in appearance. but his pale coat disrupts the image, light amber flecked with stripes of orange along his legs and tail. white is splashed across his face and tail tip, broken by speckles of amber on his cheeks, reminiscent of freckles. his eyes are orange. a noticeable trait of his are the tremors and twitches that rattle his features; he always seems to be involuntarily moving.​

- cismale, he/him.
- due to his lack of proper parental guidance and well, a parental guide in general growing up, he has an anxious attachment issue where he grows exceedingly nervous at the idea of those he loves leaving him. the mere idea of being alone terrifies this boy, and he clings to any sort of comfort he can get because of it. he is a faithful boy, yet sickly in constitution- prone to illnesses and injuries quite easily. despite this, he refuses to believe that he's weak, but lacks proper confidence in himself until he's nearly a warrior. he's protective of his family, but because of his small, scrawny stature as a kit he doesn't have much to back his bark up with. when he grows into his body (which won't actually happen until around 11 months because he got whacked with the late growth spurt stick).
