—— tadpolepaw is a high-fashion supermodel of the feline world: to be striking is the goal, not beautiful. on first glance, one would surely hesitate to describe his features as "beautiful". they are at parts too big, at others too small. like his breed standard, they have a thin, tucked body with a whip-like tail and a long nose to squint down. he's still growing into his ears and paws, both slightly too wide for comfort, making passersby faintly wonder if they'd ever fall off. ears hang batlike at the corners of his triangular head, their interiors lined with a countable number of sensitive black hairs.
yet, the more one looks at them, the prettier he gets. his ebony coat is sleek and shiny with little effort, glinting through what mud and leaf litter begin to clutter their coat. caught in sunlight, moonlight, or just a few droplets of rain, the feline appears to be a marvel of shining obsidian stone, though just as brittle. warrior training lays on his gangly limbs streamlined muscle, never enough to be the biggest in the crowd nor even intimidating, but enough to admire beneath their close-cropped coat. tadpolepaw's brilliant eyes are shaded with thick, dark lashes, dyeing them in two-tone lush shadow and warm sunlight. they glint crystalline beneath summer skies and chilled grey beneath others, scattered with pollen-bright yellow in between. they're mesmerizing, twin kailedescopes embedded in his skull, and it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what color they may be between given moments.

even so, tadpolepaw is arguably one of the most "normal" members of shadowclan. she's not intimidating nor overly shy, just strange-looking relative to moggies. they are bewildered by the right things and fish out humor at the right times, making him easy to get along with but not a force of charisma. born an outsider to the clans, tad has a difficult time defining clear-cut boundaries between shadowclan and others. he lacks the protective, black-and-white mentality of some clan cats; some may say he isn't truly devoted to his clan because she strives to see both sides of a conflict. he is never the first to volunteer for the dawn patrol, and sometimes in his apprenticeship a warrior would have to drag them out of bed for it. he savors his creature comforts, such as hogging their favorite kind of prey (toads) or basking in the sunshine on a flat stone. tad has little sense of duty, only tiresome obligation, but he shapes up it all the same because otherwise they'll be kicked out. also, he's grown attached to some shadowclanners, and though he doesn't know if she'll be missed, they'd certainly miss them.
