The freshly named leader of WindClan with a whole story weighing on his shoulders, Sunstar is a prideful yet collectivistic tom who has a heavy focus on the good of WindClan both as a whole and in the individuals around him. He strong believes that they are only as strong as their weakest, and will push his clanmates hard towards whatever greatness is their fate.​

Sunstar stands unlike most cats in WindClan. With a large, powerful form and a thick pelt dusted by sunburnt rosettes, he is nothing like his lean clanmates. Hailing from a far-off mountain, he is meant to traverse rocky terrain and deep, deadly snowbanks. Without the speed and agility of his clanmates, he focuses more on tanking damage and dealing it in deadly bursts of power before vanishing from the fight to begin anew. The scars littering his body are a testament to this — across his face, from Sootstar, and hidden within the thick fur of his chest alongside the scars his position once earned him. He makes for an imposing creature, even if his expression leans towards warmth. Seaglass eyes frequently glitter as they are described to, a light aqua glow of amusement and kindness. Powerful, yes, but not cruel.​

Life has made a complicated creature of Sunstar. Beneath the well-composed surface lies a tangled mess of the cat that he wants to be, the warrior he was taught to be, and who he truly is beneath both of these things. His twists and turns and vacillating opinions are the only signs given of the turmoil within, at least to those outside of his most trusted. While he loves all around him, to be vulnerable is to abandon leadership in his mind — however desperately he wishes to trust, he cannot give that last piece of himself. Instead they get the parts that he holds with great pride. Ambitious, passionate, and proud, Sunstar carries with him an ego that is not fragile yet well-defended nonetheless. He can be harsh with others, though never intentionally cruel, and will do what he can to make amends once he's accepted that he is in the wrong. Though far from the perfect leader he had hoped to be, Sunstar truly loves his clan and all those who share its borders.​
