Breath. He needed to get out of this place so he could breathe. Leechpaw had left the medicine cat den in the middle of the night, being his first time stepping out of the den since coming back after helping out to kill that hawk which had resulted to him receving this scars he now had across the left side of his face. They were deep and long, going the whole way down to his neck. Now and then he could still feel the stinging pain. But he choose to ignore it.
Leechpaw sat himself outside the medicine cat den so he could look up at the stars. He remembered how often he used to sit outside here with Rosepaw beside him. The older apprentice had always come out from his shelterd nest to accompany him outside so they together could watch the stars together. He had never cared much about stargazing, but Rosepaw had loved the stars. Tonight the stars gave him some sort of empty comfort. It wasn't the warm kind, but the cold one. The stars had taken Rosepaw away from him, stolen so much without even seeming to feel any remorse for it. That was why he never could like them. In fact he condemned them. Starclan was nothing but a joke to him, but for this night only he would put that aside just so he could keep this memory of him and Rosepaw to cherish the time they had have. This calm peaceful nights they had shared together side by side. Now he was all alone once more, or so he decided to be. Maybe he had Bumblepaw and his mentor Echolight but he still felt alone. He always had and maybe he always would.
At least this night was beautiful. Rosepaw would have liked watching the stars tonight that was for sure.
