Patrolling was usually easy. Patrolling didn't require her to think about any revelations regarding their previous Leader, no... She'd be thankful for it, really, if an early Leaf-bare wasn't apparently nipping at their heels. It'd probably help if she had no reason to eye up their territory as well; to imagine what sliver of it they'd take, where they would find the most bountiful prey. Luckily, even when ShadowClan has a reason to not be completely miserable for once, she still looks about as miserable as she always did.
Her patrol is a bit... dubious maybe. Singeglare, who she prays to StarClan knew how to shut up, for ShadowClan's sake. Halfsun, who she prays to StarClan knew how to shut up for her own sake, because she'd look pretty damn bad if her former apprentice still had such a mouth on her. Amberhaze... don't even get her started. She should feel blessed that she's not being made to follow his Lead this time around. Not that she was some stuffy Lead Warrior that couldn't handle being told what to do... No, she hadn't much of a head on her for the power to go to. It was just him specifically. It was just Amberhaze. The guy never seemed to shut up. Surely around ThunderClan he would, at least?
Actually— " Amberhaze, " she turns to him. Her broken tail grazes frosted blades of grass. " You're a tunnel expert, aren't you? " Their last excursion comes to mind... She nearly rolls her eyes at the memory of him telling them all to stand back, or whatever. " Why don't you go... check those out while we're here. Make sure they're good for... uh, y'know. " They wouldn't be that far away. He probably wouldn't get eaten by a bear the second they turn away, right?
She'd cast a meaningful glance to the other two warriors, absolutely begging them to be normal. She gazes across the border then, looking out for any ThunderClanners. He grumbles beneath his breath as his flank rounds a pine tree. " I'd rather be hunting right now... " But- this wasn't useless, she reminds herself. In a little while, the land ThunderClan tread on may be theirs...
