border 40 ACRES AND A MULE ♱ [ shadowclan patrol ]

Patrolling was usually easy. Patrolling didn't require her to think about any revelations regarding their previous Leader, no... She'd be thankful for it, really, if an early Leaf-bare wasn't apparently nipping at their heels. It'd probably help if she had no reason to eye up their territory as well; to imagine what sliver of it they'd take, where they would find the most bountiful prey. Luckily, even when ShadowClan has a reason to not be completely miserable for once, she still looks about as miserable as she always did.

Her patrol is a bit... dubious maybe. Singeglare, who she prays to StarClan knew how to shut up, for ShadowClan's sake. Halfsun, who she prays to StarClan knew how to shut up for her own sake, because she'd look pretty damn bad if her former apprentice still had such a mouth on her. Amberhaze... don't even get her started. She should feel blessed that she's not being made to follow his Lead this time around. Not that she was some stuffy Lead Warrior that couldn't handle being told what to do... No, she hadn't much of a head on her for the power to go to. It was just him specifically. It was just Amberhaze. The guy never seemed to shut up. Surely around ThunderClan he would, at least?

Actually— " Amberhaze, " she turns to him. Her broken tail grazes frosted blades of grass. " You're a tunnel expert, aren't you? " Their last excursion comes to mind... She nearly rolls her eyes at the memory of him telling them all to stand back, or whatever. " Why don't you go... check those out while we're here. Make sure they're good for... uh, y'know. " They wouldn't be that far away. He probably wouldn't get eaten by a bear the second they turn away, right?

She'd cast a meaningful glance to the other two warriors, absolutely begging them to be normal. She gazes across the border then, looking out for any ThunderClanners. He grumbles beneath his breath as his flank rounds a pine tree. " I'd rather be hunting right now... " But- this wasn't useless, she reminds herself. In a little while, the land ThunderClan tread on may be theirs...

Softsight knew that there was something brewing between ShadowClan and ThunderClan, and it wasn't good. Still, naivety won over when she found herself facing the other Clan at the border, reminders of all those moons ago flooding her mind with memories. It was juvenile of her, she knew, to think so fondly of another Clan when they had thrown baseless accusations of murder towards ThunderClan, but that didn't stop Softsight from making greeting with the tom across the border - if briefly, if subdued.

"Leafbare's come early." She commented, voice monotonous. She glanced over her shoulder at the rest of her patrol, at her apprentice, and flicked her tail so that Swiftpaw might come to her side. "Swiftpaw, what do you know about ShadowClan?" She asked the younger she-cat, hoping to gauge how much her new apprentice new. After all, she was taking over for another warrior - they might have already taught Swiftpaw all about the Clans.

Things were fragile between ThunderClan and ShadowClan, and it was why Wildheart minded his words carefully. He'd rather not spark an incident at the border, especially with his apprentices in tow. "Lay your markers down, and be mindful of your words." He instructed in a gruff tone that laid bare how he wanted absolutely no nonsense from either youth.

The calico tom gave no greeting to the ShadowClanners across the way, he didn't even want to invite conversation either. He'd leave Softsight to do as she pleased, but all he offered the ShadowClanners was a wary stare.

〕Her fiery plume-like tail flicked behind her as she followed behind Wildheart and beside Spiderpaw. Across the border, there was a Shadowclan patrol who didn't seem very friendly...but then again, none of the other clans were ever very friendly. "Do we have to talk to them?" Her voice was naturally quiet, as she cast a glance over at them. Why waste words on cats who accused them of being murderers? Even though she hadn't been at the gathering, the entire forest knew about what had gone on that night. She flicked an ear, casting away any interest she may of had towards the Shadowclan patrol, and started marking Thunderclan's side like her mentor had instructed.

a longhaired tortoiseshell with low white and green eyes. Ravenpaw bares a pitch black pelt, broken up by vibrant blazes of red fire. Her fur is long, curling up around her face. She has dark green eyes like her mother, and carries a light, athletic build like her mother. She has very minimal white like her father, only having a little spot above her nose on her face, and her front left toes. Her front left leg is encapsulated by blazing fire, wrapping around her back up into her bushy fox-like tail.

Halfsun watches her mentor dismiss Amberhaze with an almost amused expression worn on her split features. Go check the tunnels Sharpshadow says and it brings to the forefront of her mind her kithood - the experience of being whisked away to another clan, given another name, another life. If it wasn't so obvious that her former mentor was just coming up with a way to get rid of their patrol mate for a little bit she would find herself thankful it wasn't her being made to check said tunnels. "Me too." she says simply in response to Sharpshadow's voiced wishes, especially as she gazes across the border at the ThunderClanners who have already started to appear there. Because of course they had.

Her gaze turns icy as it sweeps across the lot of them wondering which one might be her sister's killer - if any of them at all. Which one of them had seen that light in that brilliant warriors eyes go out one final time? They better pray to StarClan she never finds out. There's one of them - Carrionshriek, Softsight, whatever her name was now - that attempts to make a conversation. Maybe in another life, she thinks, they could have been friends. Surely, Halfsun could have brought such a soft-spoken warrior out of her shell but now? She says nothing, but she does meet Wildhearts stare with one of her own, her feet moving her closer to the border until her paws are just touching the blackened path. "Wanna come over here and get a better look thunder cat?" she says, the challenge evident in her voice. Come over here and fight me

HALFSUN SHADOWCLAN WARRIOR; SHE / HER ; SISTER TO APPLEJAW, ASHENFALL, SWANSONG, GARLICHEART, AND LAURELGRIN
A tall and well-toned she cat with a long half-and half pelt, one side being a dark blue tabby and the other a bright cream, split by a pool of white at her center and travelling up her face like flames she is fire and ice simultaneously swirling into one. Her eyes are a mismatched shade of blue, with one being bright like the daytime sky and the other dark like the depths of the river.

The words 'lead by example' drifted into his head as he found himself wanting to rise up at Halfsun's challenge, but he knew he shouldn't. He had literally just told his apprentices to mind their words, so he knew he had to do the same. But it was hard, especially when the old flame of his youth continued to burn within him. His gaze lowered as he eyed where Halfsun was putting her paws, and they were threatening the chance to cross the threshold.

"Hrm? Sorry, I didn't catch that. You might need to come closer if you want me to hear you." The tom said it in a level manner as if he were having a common conversation, but in truth he was also daring Halfsun to cross the line so he could have the excuse to have a fight. His gaze lifted again as he searched for eye contact with the ShadowClanner, the glow of challenge now visible in the amber pools.
