He is unalike his older brother in that his fur is softened and curled, a direct contrast to the sharp, spiky appearance of his knight. He is like a two-sided coin and while he doesn't think it means anything, it is interesting to have a dark side and one of paler light. Stripes litter the muddy browns of his fur, trailing like shadowy tendrils to wrap around his rounded figure. Starkly different are the sandy points of his halved body, appearing almost like dampened sand at their ends.

His eyes shine like sunrise in a spring-fresh meadow.. it can be startling at times, how vibrant his doe-like gaze is. They compliment his earthy aesthetic nicely.

  • ( positive )
    ⸙͎ honor-bound, generous [ still growing ]

    ( neutral )
⸙͎ forgiving, easily flustered, emotional [ still growing ]

    ( negative )
    ⸙͎ cowardly, uncertain [ still growing ]

Valepaw is not motivated in the way most of his clan-mates are... he does not have wishes of being a great fighter; he is frightened by it. Exposed young to violence, he is certain the world is a danger and should be avoided at all costs. His cowardly nature makes him hard to convince to leave his comfort-zone and he is further riddled with uncertainty anytime he does. Confidence does not flow rampantly through him and takes time to foster even for the most minor of steps. He is soft at heart in every sense of the word, easy to forgive others for slights made against him, flustered by hardship and flattery both but still he insists upon his duty of 'honor.' Thinking himself alike princes from stories, he understands his current state is not good enough and so he stubbornly searches for ways to put his own doctrine of honor and law into effect in the world. He is generous with others, thinking it something severely lacking outside of RiverClan and encouraged to be that way by the kindness he has received from those who hardly know him but defend him nonetheless.

    ( motivations )
⸙͎ vale's goals are few... he does not know what direction he has for his life and since he is generally fearful of most warrior-adjacent tasks, he is none too excited to be forced into them.
⸙͎ he is motivated only through those he idolizes... he looks up to those stronger than him and wishes to match them one day but the steps to get that far are scary and he avoids them, putting off his own growth.
⸙͎ he values comfort and warmth more than anything... the winter is a season he has come to loathe. he would rather hunt down rookfang and convince him to cuddle.

  • CHILD OF THE ECLIPSED MOON xx A MISSING SUN
SIBLING TO ROOKFANG, MINKDANCE, VELVETPAW, UNKNOWN WINDCLANNER
    RELATED TO . . .

    ( friendship )
It's easy enough to make a surface level friendship with Vale.. he doesn't mind hanging out with others, lets things roll off his shoulders. He isn't much of a conversationalist, he would rather use short turn of phrase than extended dialogues but can be convinced to be quite the talker when comfortable.

    ( romance )
    Uhm... what?

    ( clan )
Clans are still new in their context.. but he is more than comfortable with their purpose and nature. He feels protected and loved (mostly) by the river-dwellers and trust that they will rise to his defense if he needs it. There are few he deigns but it is only because they have stepped on his proverbial toes.

    ( character archetype )
    ( playlist )

Vale is known to be superstitious; it is up for debate if these are behaviors learned from his mother or if they are wild kitten-tales that he is convinced to be reality.

( there is power in a name )
Valepaw refuses to share his name with those he doesn't think need to know it. He was taught that in knowing someone's name, you hold power of them... it is a level of intimacy not to be shared with strangers, even though 'culture' dictates it polite. He prefers the use of titles, often self-prescribed. Most notably are the ones he bestows on his siblings:
"my knight" is ascribed to Rookfang, who he deems a hero or savior of the weak.
"the maiden" is ascribed to his older sister, Minkdance, for her soft nature and beauty.
"urchin" is affixed to Velvetpaw, who was prickly and unwelcoming despite being a rogue orphan himself.
"the witch" is a title belonging to Hazecloud, whose introduction with the boy was to ask for his name, which he deemed a threat.

    ( reflections )
Vale does his best to avoid staring at his reflection too long... the warping of the features in the ripples of water harbor ill intentions... every time they cross, they distort, they hold a version of Valepaw that is not the same as his current self. He thinks anyone who spends too long looking at their reflection will become changed... and not for the better.
