The ruddy warrior sat just outside the medicine den. She may still be on mandated rest but Moonbeam couldn't hold her hostage. She'd just escaped, no chance she would be trapped again. Camp had been tense upon her return. Foxtail seemed like he at least cared that she had lived, so that was nice. She had passed out by the time Iciclefang showed up but after being told she'd been there, she can only imagine it wasn't a joyous occasion seeing Bronzeshine again. The tortoiseshell probably would've preferred her to stay gone, honestly.

She rose to her paws and made her way over to the fresh-kill pile. She nosed through until she found the smallest fish she could. Realistically she couldn't eat too much more in one sitting as it was, but she felt a prickle of unease upon taking anything from a pile she hadn't contributed to. She longed to sit by the river once more, she hadn't in over a moon. That damn den barely had any light in it...

As she turned away, she smacked directly into someone. She didn't even see who it was before a blurted "I'm sorry," uncharacteristically spilled from her maw.

//Anyone can be who she bumped into!

The bump against his side wasn't enough to knock him over, but to Blackfish, it felt as if a whole tree had collapsed into him. Alarm caused the white line of fur across his spine to bristle as he spun away from his attacker, teeth bared and tufted ears pinned against his skull. "Watch where you're going!" He chastised, a budding argument only tempered by the hasty apology that came from the other's maw. Blue eyes burned with righteous indignation but after a moment of silence, his attention withered away towards the part of his flank that still felt alight from another's touch. The fur had not been ruffled, aside from knowing that it had been prodded, it was as if he'd been untouched by the older warrior. An audibly relieved sigh escaped him before giving a swift lick of the area for good measure and whipping his head back around towards Bronzeshine.

It had been some time since he'd properly seen Bronzeshine. The last he'd heard of her she'd been rediscovered and whisked away to the medicine cat's den, her fate a mystery to one who had not been invested in the wellbeing of his clanmates. His jaws clenched the longer he stared at her, his head slowly tilting to one side as if investigating something new. "I've seen crowfood less bony than you," he observed with a whiplike lash of his tail. "So... what was it? Twolegs? Some twisted ritual? It couldn't have been rogues, could it?" He wouldn't put it past them to starve a RiverClanner, but the answer was usually more simple than that - his bet was on Twolegs. "What happened to you?"

"So crabby," she mews, sliding past the two warriors with a watchful, amused glance. Blackfish dives headfirst into interrogation after his little spat, and Paleroot can't say she finds it very considerate, nor subtle... but it doesn't really concern her... so who is she to wag her tail at him? The elder peruses the prey pile, mostly as an excuse to listen in and get the gossip on what had happened to Bronzeshine. Hadn't the clan assumed her dead? Now, suddenly very alive and well, not a ghost sent to haunt them?

"You two 'aven't seen a minnow, eh? I need some good luck," she declares rather ominously... a superstition that few respected but humored nonetheless. Something about respecting your elders....

"Ya don't have to answer," she adds, looking towards the thin she-cat with a small tilt of her head towards Blackfish to indicate she meant his questioning.

"She apologised, Blackfish" a frown blossomed across her maw, not unlike the first buds during new-leaf. It's subtle but it's blooming at the sight of the completely unnescary conflict. Sure he understands that crossing each other in such an unpleasant way can cause a knee jerk reaction, a hiss or insult but it just seemed a little too far to be so crass about this. Thornskip couldn't say that she knew Bronzeshine well enough to know that this apology was uncharacteristic for her, even if this wasn't the case he thought it just seemed strange to turn something so simple into a confrontation of some sorts.

Conflict was not his strong suit, nor was she a mediator but she did hold a strong moral code. A sharp tongue only honed in when he sees an outcry of something he deems to be unjust, such as this instance. Paleroot seems to be a mediator in her own right, trying to be disarming using means of distraction such as this. This isn't a supersition that she's heard of before but she hasn't deeply researched the superstitions within clanlife just yet. Still clinging to his own supersitions from travelling with Twolegs for so long.

"I could look for one for you" he is gallant sure, though she doesn't fully know the difference between a minnow and any other fish from the river. She should have more knowledge than this but her had to admit that they would always fall short to anything in relation to the water despite their best efforts. With a flick of their tail he gives Blackfish and Bronzeshin a wide birth, not wanting to accidentally bump into anyone themself. "What matters is that you're back" he decides with a gentle tone, not wanting to dig into the circumstances surrounding the boney she-cats disappearance.

The heat of Blackfish's scrutinizing gaze burned into her fur. "What happened to you?" The question left a bad taste on her tongue. As if it was any of his business. "Wouldn't you like to know?" she spat back, a bit of her typical ferocity edging it's way into her tone. It died rather quickly, however, as the embarrassment crept it's way up her throat. Paleroot, fortunately, interrupted the exchange before anything else she'd probably regret happened. Bronzeshine simply lashed her tail once.

She didn't have much fight in her in that moment, and appreciated Thornskip's addition. "Thanks," her voice was quiet once more. "It was rogues. That's all you get," she didn't even fully know what prompted her to say even that. She would rather forget the whole thing happened at all.
