Everything Stays

The gathering was- something rather forgotten. Sootstar was known for her rather militant behavior, but to go as far as to kill a cat? Even if they had trespassed, was death truly the only option? It made the fur along their spine bristle slightly, the scarring, the murder, the chaos of the gathering- it was all so much. What had they walked into? A world that was ruled with an iron paw? Their mind trickles down to Duskfire, did he believe in everything she said? Was he one for this marring of high poisitons? Of murdering a cat for seemingly no reason? They weren't sure and the thought terrified them as they sat nestled outside the medicine den. Inkylotus had been doing better with his sickness, almost ready enough to leave the den, and he had been leaving the den more often now. Mingling back with his clanmates and worrying himself into a hole over the news thats flooded the camp.

Inkylotus shook his head for a moment, no now was not the time to think of such things. Everything would be fine in time. When Sootstar passes and Duskfire takes over, things would smooth over and everything would be okay. Or well that was what he told himself to keep from going insane. Today, however, the sightless cat had an idea of sorts and made his way over to the nursery and apprentices' den. Maybe some light hearted fun would be in order? He had plenty of stories to tell about his past and his travels, he'd love to share them with the youth of Windclan.

the gathering didn't go as well as she thought it'd be, it was going good in the first half but then the flame-point tom, who's name eacapes her at the moment, declared sootstar an unforgiving murderer that ended up spiraling the gathering into all eyes being focused onto windclan who had to sit underneath the judgement of the four other clans. it left a bitter taste in shrewpaw's mouth the more she dwelled on it, will everyone from the moors be seen as bloodthirsty murderers who couldn't be trusted?

agh, how irritating! the apprentice scuffed the ground with a paw and a subtle frown before the sound of someone approaching the area caught her attention, it was inkylotus. she'll worry about things another time. "howdy inky! what brings ya on this side of the clearin'?" she greets the blind tom happily.

ALL THE KING'S HORSES

Moonshadow was lounging in front of the nursery, watching her kits play as they usually did when Inkylotus approached. Her sapphire optics would flicker over to the blind tom and Shrewpaw as the apprentice greeted them and she would give a soft but audible purr of greeting.

"Kittens, come say hello." She would call for her children as she sat up and face the black male, "It is good to see you, Inkylotus. How have you been fairing?"

PERFECT LITTLE PUNCHING BAG

At his mother's call, Periwinkle is quick to pad over, shying away from the rather intimidating gaze (or lack thereof) of the black furred tom before him. He wonders idly what happened, if it hurts, but he's to polite to put his thoughts into words. Instead, he huddles into his mothers fur and waves a paw shyly, before wincing as he realizes that's a mousebrained thing to do. He blames it on his lack of sleep. Now thoroughly embarrassed, he presses his face into his mothers smokey coat, face hot with embarrassment.

Everything Stays

The young warrior gave a purr at the sound of a young voice, Shrewpaw! He had always loved their kindness, "I came to share stories of my travels! With all the tenseness around, I thought sharing something light would be benefitful," He answered the apprentice with a small dip of his head and a warm smile across his maw. Then twitched his nose, turning his head in the direction of Moonshadows' voice, "I am well, Moon! How're you? How are your kits? I bet they're beautiful little beans," He gave a littel joyous wrinkl of his nose and then tilted his head to the side a bit. A smell reached his nose, one he did not know right off hand and it was sweeter; milk-like. "I smell a kit, but which kit is it?," Half playful, half truthful. Playing with the kit but actually asking Moonshadow a quesion.

"THEY SAY THAT IM RECKLESS BECAUSE I'M RELENTLESS"

Story time? I'm always down for a story~! ❞ The smooth deep voice echoed out towards the group. Maybe a little loud for the calm atmosphere that the blind Tom was setting up, but Jaggedoak couldn't help but try to draw more attention to the prospect of a good story. Afterall, what better way to get others to socialize then a group listening to tales of the past. The clan was newly formed, and plenty of the cats were from different walls of life, including himself.

The 20 pound black tabby was careful as he stepped closer to the nursery. Being one of (if not, the) biggest cats in the clan, he was always knowledgeable on where to place his paws when near the nursery. The last thing he wanted to do was step on a rambunctious and excited kit. He decided to settle down a bit further to the back and off to the side, looking up at Inkylotus with a soft smile. ❝ This is a wonderful idea Inkylotus~! With so many new and old faces around, I don't think I've heard half of my clanmates stories, let alone yours. ❞ He made sure to try and convey his intrigued Curiosity through his tone and voice, knowing he could easily fall into the habit of letting facial expressions guide his intentions.

Stories... Honey knows the clan desperately needs good news and as she passes with flowers held taught between her jaws, she stops to listen in. "Jaggedoak is right. I'm excited to hear them." she drops the flowers at her paws, settling down in to a position shes most comfortable in, sweeping her tail close to her paws. Perhaps it'd be a good time to relax and shes secretly searching for her children, wanting to bring them close and have them listen in, much like when they were babies- they were older now. Nowhere near the height Moonshadows kits were, but her eyes gleam with affection none the less. She turns her attention back to Inkylotus with a cocked head.
