The loud rumbling of his stomach alerted him to the fact that he'd forgotten to eat lunch. He sighed, annoyed with himself as he began to stalk his way across camp toward the freshkill pile. He'd been so caught up in his work strengthening the walls to the elders den that he'd forgotten to stop and get himself some food before moving onto the next chore on his list, and he figured it was best to get that out of the way before continuing on with his day.
The tall tabby spared the pile a brief glance before picking a mouse out and carrying it over to a quiet spot to eat. It wasn't much, but he couldn't really afford to be selfish with the better prey right now when someone like Deersong might need it. Besides, it felt pointless to take more food than you were able to bring in. It just canceled itself out, nothing gained. Might as well just eat what you catch right out in the forest rather than bring it back. So a smaller mouse in exchange for the vole he'd brough in the evening prior.
