〕Ever since the clan had woken up to the cold stuff that had touched everything in the camp, the warriors had been freaking out about leafbare coming. They had called the cold stuff frost. When she had woken up, she had first thought that it was snow. Wasn't that what happened in the leafbare, it snowed? She hadn't heard of frost before. If this was how leafbare was going to be, she didn't like it. The camp was much colder than it ever had been, and the wind was not as warm as it once was. Now it chilled her to the bone instead of providing a nice relief from the heat. She knew that with leafbare things would cool off, but she didn't like it. Were they all like this?

The apprentice padded over to a group of her clanmates, something she wouldn't normally do if she weren't cold. "So is it going to snow now? I thought that stuff yesterday morning was snow...what is snow like?" The frost had been cold on her paws...surely snow wasn't much worse, right?

a longhaired tortoiseshell with low white and green eyes. Ravenpaw bares a pitch black pelt, broken up by vibrant blazes of red fire. Her fur is long, curling up around her face. She has dark green eyes like her mother, and carries a light, athletic build like her mother. She has very minimal white like her father, only having a little spot above her nose on her face, and her front left toes. Her front left leg is encapsulated by blazing fire, wrapping around her back up into her bushy fox-like tail.

The early frost wasn't something that Softsight had wanted to see, as she was sure most of her Clanmates shared the same sentiment. It would only prove to be more trouble for them than if Leafbare had come on time, and now they were racing against time to make sure that they would be prepared for the onset cold. For one, Softsight had lamented the loss of the cool breezes that were what cooled her off in Leaf-fall, that were now biting winds that shook the camp to its very core.

"With any luck, the snow will be held at bay until Leafbare proper." Softsight cast her gaze upwards, a silent prayer to StarClan that they might hold back the snow. Then she looked down at Ravenpaw, who was asking about snow and what it was like - it would be her first Leafbare, after all, and curiosity was to be expected. "It's colder than the frost is - when I first felt it, it was as if it burned my paws." Softsight described, recounting her first experience with the powdery substance from the prior Leafbare. "There is... fun to be found in it, I suppose, but it definitely isn't something that should be wished for."

lifetimes ago, she enjoyed snow. her entrance to thunderclan had been in a cold blanket of flurries, shivering and hungry. barley a cycle ago, she remembers complaining to gingerflame about the end of leafbare. as her feet ache underpaw, the cold tingling her pads, she wonders why she even enjoyed it at all. it made her old home cold, which ruined her favorite spot to look out the window.

"agreed." she murmurs over softsight's prayer.

her ear flicks as ravenpaw trots over, asking questions about snow. the inevitable, impending doom of snow. maybe the promotion made her hate snow. her lead warrior brain has made her think differently about so many things.

leafhusk grooms one of her paws idly as her albino clanmate muses about the weather. "it's fun until it clumps in your fur." she mews, dragging her paw over an ear. "pretty to look at, but dangerous to live with."

The idea of unfamiliar more-frost clumping in her ashen-brown fur doesn't scare her too much: Badgerstripe would be very careful about keeping Shrewkit and her littermates free of it. She doesn't like how their current weather makes her paws feel, though, tingly and sting-y when she's out of the nursery for too long at a time. She's approaching that limit now, having ventured out to listen to Ravenpaw ask questions of the older ThunderClanners, shuffling in place as if hoping a certain white-furred warrior beside her was brave enough to sit down so that little paws might find respite on her fluffy tail.

"Why's it day..." Shrewkit squints somewhere near Leafhusk's left shoulder, sounding out the word very carefully like mama has taught her, "... day-jer-uss?"
