જ➶ The late afternoon has come and the apprentice is bounding around the moorlands. Of course he is not alone, as he has his mentor with him. Still he has raced off in a flurry of long limbs, a bright smile upon his muzzle. He merely hopes to find something today, anything really and he starts sniffing the ground. He has many holes here and there already from his extra excavations and he is still going. A spot suddenly seems to catch his attention and he wildly starts putting his claws to work. His efforts are tireless as he throws dirt behind him and around him. His whole body positively shivers from his excitement as he continues digging to see if there is anything there. Afterall, tenth hole is the charm right. Laughing at his own thoughts the flame point suddenly lets out a gasp as paws smack something. His nose wrinkles at the strange tang of a smell coming from it and he grapples the round thing and gets it out of the hole. With awe in his eyes the first thing he decides to see is if it is edible.

With a ting his teeth snap against the object and it makes his teeth tingle. "Gah, no, definitely not edible but it's so cool!" Unknown to him he has found what twolegs call a quarter and with a happy huff he picks it up and races across the moor to his mentor. Dropping it at his paws he grins brightly. "Look what I found! But don't try and eat it cause it's as hard as a rock. But I think it looks cool!" He is supposed to be hunting but sometimes he does get distracted.

"BECAUSE COWBOY DAN'S A MAJOR PLAYER IN THE COWBOY SCENE"
Where Gravelsnap was more of a firecracker, a cat who had alot stored up but held the face of calmness, Mirepaw seemed opposite. The young apprentice was a bundle of activity, leaving Houndthistle usually in the dust while he raced ahead to dig up whatever like a dog. Sometimes it was charming, Houndthistle joking with his friends that his apprentice was helping the Tunnelers while they trained, but other times the lumbering tom just couldn't get the energy to keep up and enjoyed watching him do whatever. Today was such day. Houndthistle's large shape sat upon a hill as he watched the gangle flamepoint dart around like a bee between all his holes, amber eyes interested and ears perked as he stayed watch, knowing they should hunt but the sun and the wind urged him to enjoy the time while he could. He'd already seen slight disappointment alight the other's face as he found nothing in the other nine holes, that Houndthistle quietly hoped that maybe he'd find just a bone or a neat rock, anything to see a hint of pride in Mirepaw's face when he gave him the praise.

What he did find wasn't what Houndthistle hoped for, but it did peek his interest once Mirepaw raced back, dropping the shiny thing at his paws. "Now, that sure is a find," The brute mused, leaning down to give it a sniff before using a large paw to gently bat it, "Prol'ly is a two-leg thing, I reckon. Shoul'n't mess wit' it no-more, but good job! 'haps Sootstar will name ya Mirenose for that keen sniff ya got." Houndthistle gave the young tom an approving smile, lifting a large paw to ruffle between his ears. He never discouraged his apprentices from their little quirks, usually finding them to be something that could come in handy, plus, the dedication Mirepaw showed to keep trying was something Houndthistle knew he could reference for future teaching lessons.

Out on a training session with @Firefang , Harrierpaw is baffled at the sight of Mirepaw digging holes… He was a moor runner, not a rabbit! His mother had taught him tunneling was honorable, a needed position in the clan, but you would still not catch Harrierpaw dead squirming around in the dirt like a worm. He glances to his mentor, his disdain for the scene blatant in his eyes.

The mentor and apprentice duo are in their path, so naturally they pass by. As they do, Mirepaw returns to Houndthistle and drops something. It’s mostly coated in dirt, but sunlight reflects off of it and momentarily blinds him. Blinking in alarm and confusion, his pelt would bristle when the large Tom-cat suggests the object is likely a two leg item. ”Twoleg trash?!” Harrierpaw echoes in disbelief, completely stopping in his tracks to gawk at the small object. ”We should get rid of it, toss it in the gorge!” The apprentice didn’t think they wanted to allow twoleg litter to sit on their territory… especially when they could feed it to RiverClan.

Life doesn't discriminate
Adderpaw stalks near Sunstride, his gait slowing as his brother gawks over something Mirepaw found and dropped near Houndthistle's paws. His brows pinch together as he glares at the two leg object, scoffing as his did so. "We should definitely get rid of it." He voices in agreement with his brother, turning his attention to look up at his mentor. "We don't need two legs sniffing around here looking for it." Would they look for something like this? He wasn't sure and that alone fueled his reasoning to get rid of it even more.
Between the sinners and the saints

Two-legs give Bluepool the absolute creeps. Their lack of fur except the weird manes on the top of their heads, the way they wear such brightly colored pelts, the strange things that she had seen them do, every single thing about them icks her right out. She wants nothing to do with them ever if she can help it and so when she sees the thing Mirepaw had brought his mentor she cannot help but wrinkle her nose in disgust. "It reeks like them" she says, peering at the strange shapes. What use could twolegs possibly have for such a thing? Her two nephews suggest they get rid of the thing and she cannot help but agree. "It was a good find Mirepaw, but Adderpaw and Harrierpaw are right we should get rid of it as soon as possible. Two-legs can be pretty dangerous." her mind drifts back to when her sister was killed by one. Luckily, she had already been granted her nine lives by the stars. They had fixed her, brought her back to life and allowed her to fight another day. That didn't mean Bluepool was willing to take any chances though. She herself, like many others, only had one life after all.

જ➶ The wide grin that spreads across his muzzle is apparent at the praise he receives from his mentor. Finding anything is tricky but he does hope to be the best tracker out there. Although his face falls just the slightest bit as the older warrior tells him that he shouldn't mess with it no more. "Aww, but I wanted to keep it..." He looks like he is pouting a bit as he bats the shiny thing back and forth with his paws. His ears angle down a bit as he thinks about it and then a voice catches his attention. At first his eyes light up seeing a fellow apprentice but almost immediately at the other's words he ducks his head. "Geez, it's not that bad. I mean...it's probably been buried for who knows how long." Maybe he is being resistant because he did all the work to uncover it and he puffs his cheeks out as another apprentice comes to vocalize the same. Party poppers. At least that is how he feels and he makes a face as Bluepool comes and she too wants him to get rid of it.

"S'totally not fair. Why would a twoleg come back for trash anyway? That's what Harrier called so what's so wrong in me keeping it?" He looks to Houndthistle then, really only seeking sway him. The tom is like a father figure to him since his own passed away from a ah, horse related incident. It wasn't a pretty sight.

"BECAUSE COWBOY DAN'S A MAJOR PLAYER IN THE COWBOY SCENE"
The brute's lips twitched with a soft smile as he saw that enthusiasm at his praise. He was about to explain why it couldn't be kept when their solo-venture was quickly becoming a bit of show and tell, Mirepaw's object the item at the forefront of this all. He gave a twitch of his ear, glancing at Harrierpaw and Adderpaw-the leader's kits-as they sported they should throw it in the gorge lest twolegs come looking, something Houndthistle didn't really care about-afterall, it was obviously abandoned, left buried for stars-knows-how-long only to be found by Mirepaw. Bluepool throws in her own opinion to the mess, Houndthistle continuing to be quiet as he mulls over the other's opinions, listening to their reasoning while coming to his own.

Mirepaw looked to him just as Houndthistle's amber eyes glanced at the point, checking to see how he felt. The dampened spirits and seeming stubbornness made another subtle twitch at his lips, hiding it by rasping his tongue over his maw. " I'on know if it's bein' looked fer, but we don' know if it can make us sick. With Scorchfire carryin' and who-knows who else gon' end up carryin', we don' wanna risk makin' anyone sick," He explained to his apprentice, "It's best we atleast get it off our territory, lest Vulturemask suddenly tells us it's poisonous an' we get stuck with our ears where our tail goes." He tacked on the joke, chuckling lightly to hopefully raise the apprentice's mood and make it easier to understand why they couldn't keep the thing. Pausing, he glanced at it, biting the inside of his cheek. "I can make ya a deal, though. Nex' thing ya find that ain' two-leg related, we'll get cleared by Vulturemask an' maybe we can decorate yer nest with it, okay? Make sure ya have the coolest nest in the clearin'," He offered in negotiation, hoping this promise will encourage him to keep looking while also being mindful of his finds.
