The tensions between Clans were unmistakable since the gathering. Sneezeduck feels almost relieved that Mirestar's plans are out in the opening. Now, he may begin his preparations in earnest - ones that Siltcloud had already began to see to. This must be what she's preparing for.. the vengeance of a friend's sibling, a bold statement to the Clans that ShadowClan will protect their loved ones at any cost.
It is weird to be so fascinated with the concept of war, for a boy who had once questioned.. why do we fight? But, in his busy thoughts, he scarcely reminds himself of the way he once was, and focuses more on what he has become.. what he has yet to polish.
And, of course, he is not the only one. The only one that may turn some heads, though. Would his Clanmates fight with him, a renown coward, when the time comes? Would they expect him to turn tail and flee, leave him in the dust in pursuit of a more valuable Clanmate in danger? The thought stabs at him like bitter fangs, infecting him with a newly discovered venom that he has yet to distinguish as hate and anger. It is all too.. new.
Someone would have his back. Swansong, already, had formed an unspoken alliance with him the day they discussed their star-blessed dreams. The next cat to approach, none other than his fiery brother, who seemed to gleam at the mention of war. Sneezeduck approaches him now, forgetting to smile familiarly as he gathers his littermate's attention.
" I want to fight, " the young warrior mumbles, staring at Singeglare with pin-point eyes to gauge his reaction. I will not be afraid any longer. Fear is how my family will inevitably die. " Will you have my back.. if I stumble? " He, too - if presented with a vengeful foe, to make everything right, would he abandon his star-appointed duty to save Singeglare? For the moment, he cannot decide if he would.. but it is of little importance to him now.
