pafp AIN’T MAKING DOLLARS, BUT AT LEAST IM MAKING SENSE — release plea

Ever since the gathering had happened Redstorm had awaited with bated breath for Vermillionsun to be freed from his confinement within Sky Clans camp. Sure, the other flame pointed tom was annoying but according to Sootstar, he was not a murderer. At least not the one they had been looking for. In his opinion, it was time they stop wasting resources on the rogue. The food they were giving him could be better spent on other members of their clan. Redstorm knows it and surely Blazestar has to know it as well.

The red pointed tom finds Blazestar in the spot he had been since the gathering. His blue eyes fall upon the pile of cream colored fur that lays curled in his nest. Redstorm stops at the entrance to it, not wanting to go into the hollow that he had once shared with his father. Too many memories in a space that was familiar but not all at the same time. He closes his eyes shut for a moment before taking a shaky breath. "Blazestar we need to talk" he says gently, his voice echoing off the walls of the den. He flinches at the sound.

Blazestar has lost a lot, and Redstorm feels for him he really does but the clan needed to loose the parasite known as Vermillionsun. "At the gathering, Sootstar said that a cat with gray fur attacked one of her apprentices." he points out bluntly, cutting right to the chase. "Vermillionsun is not the cat who killed Centipedepaw. We need to let him go" his words are curt but something about the dull look to his leaders pelt, the way he had looked at their last meeting, told him it’s what he needs right now. Redstorm wraps his tail around his paws, ice blue eyes never leaving his leaders pointed face as he awaits a reply.

// please wait for @BLAZESTAR

( * ˚ ✦ ) He jerks his head up, fur swishing around his thinning body like curtains dusting a floor. Blazestar, we need to talk." A curt, hard-toned voice, one he recognizes well. Redstorm pads into his den, eyes like chips of ice freezing him in place.

Blazestar doesn't say anything. He juts twitches one pale ginger ear, waiting for the other tom to continue. He doesn't like being interrupted... he'd been dreaming, dreaming of nice things, of days gone by...

Redstorm's words cause him to flinch. "At the gathering, Sootstar said a cat with gray fur attacked one of her apprentices." Had she said that? Blazestar can't recall her saying anything about an apprentice being attacked...

"Sootstar?" He repeats, anger dully coloring his voice. "And what do we care what Sootstar has to say about anything? She lies. Always, she lies."

He starts to turn his head away to dismiss Redstorm, but he hesitates. "Gray... gray fur?" He murmurs, almost to himself. How could that be? He'd never... gray fur? "They caught him?"

In the wake of everything, Mushroomkit had nearly forgotten the accusations made toward a tom she had no prior knowlegde of, for crimes she didn't really understand at the time. Now, she knew all too well what those accusations meant. So she sits off to the side, silent, watching as Redstorm brings up that the gathering had brought new information on Centipedepaw's murderer, or so it seemed.

How were they to know it was the same cat? How were they to know that there were not multiple apprentice slayers? To trust the word of one clan leader, one that Skyclan didn't really seem to enjoy the presence of, especially after she manipulated Coyotepaw into leaving...well it just didn't make sense! Blazestar seems to see this as well, but...the leader still seems lost in his head. "Um..." She hesitates, shuffling her paws before stepping forward. "How do we know its the same cat who attacked both of them?"

The question, although asked from a child, is in no way mocking or defiant, but rather genuinely curious. It is insightful, though the asker does not intend for it to be so profound.
