AIRBNB ☼ UNINTENTIONAL NAP

Dimmingsun finds himself idle one too many times lately, and the restlessness it brings him is akin to stubborn ticks turning the fields of one's back itchy. Whether it's a good or a bad thing is certainly up to debate — during the aftermath of the fire, or DuskClan's invasion, he did not even have the chance to wish for some free time... now, with Celandinepaw whisked away to train under someone else, and with no immediate threat to WindClan's safety (aside from yellowcough that he is not equipped to deal with), Dimmingsun comes face to face with a degree of aimlessness.

By no means is he bored, of course. He would be hard-pressed to allow himself such a luxury, especially with the responsibilities of a lead warrior... but the point still stands: the mundane activities of patrolling, hunting and tending to his Clanmates are not always enough to fill out every moment of his day.

He visits the sun-warmed pool due to a lack of anything better. Dimmingsun can try to soothe himself by pretending it's for a good cause, like making sure no trespasser hangs around the only water source of the hills — it'd only amount to desperation though.

Surely, nobody could fault him for taking a "break"... he tells himself so, lowering himself by the pool's edge, and letting the water wet his paws after he takes a cooling drink. The little lake laps at the heightened shores and lulls him into a sense of safety; before he knows it, Dimmingsun slips into comfortable unconsciousness. He dreams of a vicious blizzard turning into peaceful spring; of tufts of cotton walking the planes of the sun-kissed ground; of a distant wolf howling at the unlikely sun instead of the usual company of the moon.

And when Dimmingsun wakes, his mind and body ooze with sluggishness. He had failed to take note of the exact time of day when sleep had taken him... however long has passed is questionable.

He is still lounging about and coming to his senses when a Clanmate nears the pool, and he is quick to beckon them over with a flick of his tail. "How long was I out? Is it still greenleaf?"

જ➶ Being stuck in camp can become insufferable and for a moment she finds herself turning her head. Seeking out anyone that may have time to accompany her. But then she reminds herself on what her father used to say. Leaning on others is a burden. Making her the burden that someone else has to bear and she can never be as such. Walk on her own power and stand at the beck and call of their glorious leader. One who has long since perished along with them. The thought had made her pause and she merely pushed herself to get up and go. She can make it on her own and all she will do is go for a quick walk anyway. Steps light as the large apprentice makes her way from the entrance of camp, sleek form quiet and exaggeratedly slow as she makes her way. The direction she wanders is one she has at least gone before and as she finally picks up the scent of water she hears movements.

A voice speaks up, the beckoning she can not see but the invitation is implied to her. Brows furrowing the girl narrows her eyes in thought. Has he been sleeping out here? "I don't know how long you've been out here." Her voice is like honey dripping as she shrugs her shoulders. "But yeah it is. But I'm happy greenleaf is waning..." With a huff she finally plops down near the water herself, dipping her paw into the cool surface.

Sedgepounce's pelt is tacky and overheated from his sprint across the moor. A rabbit deposited at camp for his troubles, he retreats to the sun-warmed pool to soak his aching paws. As he wanders the trodden pathways, he silently prays that no one else has thought to do the same.

That, of course, is wishful thinking. Even as the skies have started to condense with cloud and smog, Greenleaf heat still drives WindClanners to the sun-warmed pool in droves. It's not when Sedge was an apprentice, sneaking out of camp to contemplate the pool alone. Now, he's doomed to company. Very sleepy company, at that.

"Sleeping all the way out here? Risky maneuver," Sedgepounce chimes lightheartedly, slinking past Silkenpaw to slip his paws into the water with a satisfied sigh. He's never heard of anyone getting attacked by a predator at the sun-warmed pool, but it's not exactly impossible. "Did you have sweet dreams?" he asks, half-joking.

Her final destination is a place shes been meaning to visit for the past few days: the sun-warmed pool. She recently had bent one of her claws backwards and despite there being no external injuries, or even the wibble wobble of the thing that would tell of shedding... It still ached like no tomorrow!

She pops out of a nearby tunnel with the grace of a bolting rabbit and then... Proceeds to almost trip over her own paws, ruining her cool entrance. She scowls for just a second before she looks up to the expanse of water; on the other side lays three bodies, chattering away, and Stoat makes her way over to join them. She never was the one to resist a good talk, after all.

Seems like Dimmingsun fell asleep, and then Sedgepounce makes a quip about it being risky. I mean, I can't exactly argue that, she thinks inwardly, shrugging up her shoulders at her own thoughts. Now is time for relaxation, though, and not arguments, so she comes quick to Dimmingsuns defense with her own joke. "Well, I reckon nothin would've happened," eyes flit over Silkenpaw, then Sedgepounce before they rest upon Dimmingsun, the corners of them crinkling just a bit as she grins. "M' sure our sleepy guy here could fend off a hundred foxes in his sleep." Sedgepounce moves past Silkenpaw to get his paws in as well. Seems like everyone had (mostly) the same idea that she had, today.

She's no Riverclanner... Despite having no qualms with getting wet, she doesn't purposefully want to get wet and so she does what Silkenpaw had done. She splays herself out in front of the pool, reaching her hurt paw out to rest in the water. "Sure is nice out here, yeah? I can see why you'd nap here." she punctuates this with an unintentional yawn, shaking her head in amusement. This was nice, and her paw feels better already! Hopefully it stays that way...

Despite Dimmingsun's initial perception suggesting one nearby individual, Silkenpaw is quickly joined by Sedgepounce and Stoatspot. He relishes in the company; regardless of how it might appear for a lead warrior to lounge about, he throws caution to the wind, and indulges himself. Gingerly, large paws fold and vanish beneath a long-haired chest. The waning sun threatens to blind him as he gazes up at his Clanmates, but with luck, one of them manage to block out the worst of the rays.

"Tell me about it," he agrees whole-heartedly with Silkenpaw, a dramatic sigh enunciating his point. "I can't wait to feel a little chill. And for my fur to stop shedding..." He is certain they could make a number of nests from the lose tufts of his golden fur alone. Dimmingsun is adamant about cleaning up after himself, but the breeze has definitely carried his "remnants" away from him before he could do so. Oops.

Sedgepounce's next — making a good point, enough for Dimmingsun to glance around the pool. "Risky, for sure. But who could possibly resist... I even got some good dreams to go with that, yeah."

His hindlegs straighten behind him as he stretches, confident that it explains what he means... but they quickly snap back in place as Stoatspot's joke forces him into hearty laughter. "Ha! You think so? Maybe I should sleep by the borders more often then. Scare RiverClan away with my bear snores." She appears almost entranced by his shenanigans, if her abruptly-opening maw is anything to go off of. "Nap with me then. I'll keep you safe even in my dreams."
