BARE YOUR FANGS ☾ TRAINING

One day she would have nothing to prove, but that was not today. Every burdened by blood, constantly at wits with her own legacy and place in the clan, Moonwhisper was more than a little eager to accept the duty of arranging training if only to work through some issues she was still struggling with in the only way she knew how. She was not the soft, meek apprentice she used to be, she'd hardened like ice over the many moons and her edges were sharp, she'd fought in battles and viciously defended her clan with all of her being and yet...and yet it still felt like she wasn't doing enough. It still felt like she was never going to rise above bloodlines and bodies, even with her name distancing herself from her past she could still feel it clinging like a bothersome burr snagged in her coat. But she was getting there, the hard work and dedication to her clan was gradually paying off and one day she would be respected enough that she'd be known only for herself and her ThunderClan kin and the phrase 'Blazestar's daughter' would never be uttered again. Little Wolf didn't like that she treated his name like a curse uttered with vehemence and while she did not blame her mother for still having feelings it was obvious by now there was nothing good to come of keeping your claws into the past. The future was burning brighter and brighter and she had seen an inkling of something in the dark she-cats interactions with her friend Hailstorm. A good tom, a loyal ThunderClan warrior, maybe she was reading too much into it but either way - she approved. The thought of pining in such a way made her shake her head irritably, remembering Roeflame and Burnstorm dancing awkwardly about conversation and she hoped she'd never be so vapid and airheaded if she ever sought a mate herself. If she ever bothered.
The tortie point's paws crunched into the ground as she moved over the sandy hollow and glanced around, tail flicking as she waited any cat who wished to join to step forward, "I'm patient to a point, but I'm not interested in this taking all day. So who wishes to fight me?"
The literal second any cat so much as shown even a sliver of interest in her challenge she would throw herself upon them without hesitation and with a speed worthy of a lightning strike.

Anyone is welcome to post in this thread! She's going to either force pairings or start beating up the first cat who accepts her challenge lol
Also @LIGHTSTRIKE .

There was something weird about families. They only had Houndtooth, their brother, and that was about it. And they seemed to not want to get close to others as an apprentice, scared to get attached and it affect their training.

But, Barleysight didn't have to train anymore. And there was never, not a time that you couldn't practice. So the brown and white tabby would lift their head at Moonwhispers urge to fight, and they would think about it for a second. Why not though? The newly named warrior would lift herself to her paws, before starting towards Moonwhispers form.

There was something too eager about her words, but perhaps it was good intentions. Their eyes would still watch carefully, before announcing their approval. "I'm not the greatest, but we can definitely try!" A nervous chuckle came from the warrior, as she began to brace herself.

⋆✦⋆ Sandy Hollow was an everyday thing now but usually he focused on training with his mentor and spent less time practicing with other clanmates. Moonwhisper gathering a combat training here was more than he could have hoped for and he was psyched. At the tortoiseshell point’s offer, Dreampaw’s eyes narrowed in anticipation but it was Barelysight who beats him to the punch.

”No fair! I, the Dark Warrior, would have gladly allowed her to battle me,” he says almost to himself from the sidelines and his voice drips with petty realization at his missed opportunity to prove his skills. That and he definitely didn’t want it to look like he hesitated on stepping up to a challenge.

But no matter. The match would be interesting. He wished to see what the newly-made warrior had to offer against Moonwhisper. Maybe he could pick up something new by watching? He blinks in silent surprise when Barleysight openly claims they aren’t the best but he tries to imagine that it would remain a fair enough match.

”Good luck, Barleysight. But it’s alright if you hurry up and lose so I can win, okay?” It’s banter that he owns with a grin and either it would worsen morale or it would kindle a fire in Barleysight to prove him wrong. The chiefly dark tortie supplies a glance around. The fabled Dark Warrior may graciously allow other worthy candidates to practice against him in the meantime. It was possible he could train as well as keep tabs on Moonwhisper and Barleysight’s battle, though his record of successful multitasking would say otherwise.

    personality ▹

The self-proclaimed 'Dark Warrior,' Dreampaw is mischievous and proud of his power. He appreciates a good prank or joke and has earned himself disapproval from his peers for his fondness of causing trouble. He's easily excited and makes decisions on a whim, often driven forward by his impulsive nature. Although he hates losing, he sees every defeat as 'preparation for victory,' and waits patiently for opportunities to present themselves.

Despite the title he gives himself, Dreampaw isn't as sinister as he claims to be. Rather, he's simply an eccentric and somewhat socially awkward youth with a taste for theatrics. Even so, he knows how to portray an intimidating persona that, combined with his impressive natural skills and thirst for power, help make him live up to his self-appointed title.

  • ▹ Clanborn and raised in Thunderclan. Sometime before his apprentice ceremony, he developed his ‘Dark Warrior’ persona along with his true gender identity and considers this self-defining moment one that he is both proud and fond of.

WIP as events occur in roleplay!

The idea of Moonwhisper leading a training session sparked a strange sort of competitive streak within him. He wanted to be seen as great, as trustworthy and worthy of holding greater responsibility in his claws. His mentor had let him lead a patrol once, when he was still new to his warrior name, but not since. a small part of him wonders if he had done something wrong that day, something to not be trusted again, but he quickly shakes it off. He trusted Flycatcher to tell him when he does wrong, to keep him in check and help him learn even though they were no longer mentor and apprentice. He is not Emberstar, but they had formed a bond just as strong, if not stronger, than the one he had had with the teacher before him.

When he tags along to the training he is not sure what he expected, but when his sister launches right into it he is not surprised. She had never been the patient sort. Disappointment flashes through him when she pairs off against another. He would have liked to exchange blows with her himself. But he does not let it drag him down. Only a fleeting glance is spared in the pale warriors direction before he fixes his sights on Dreampaw. He was much younger than himself but he was cocky and arrogant. That kind of attitude could get one seriously injured or worse in a battle so he would not be going easy on him just because he was an apprentice. "Do you wish to spar with me? Feel free to say no if you’re too scared" he offers, a teasing tone entering his voice in the last little bit as his golden eyes narrow and his plumed tail flicks behind him in a steady motion as he awaits the others response.

”Who me? I’ve never been intimidated in my life,” he whips around to glare in mock gall at the challenger before him. Truly, it is an honor for a warrior as prodigious as Burnstorm to offer him a challenge. He’d make sure to not disappoint.

Dreampaw steps closer to size up the half-ragdoll black tom. With his opponent being so much larger this was gonna be tough. And exciting! he couldn’t help his thoughts running wild. If he could impress Burnstorm with his talents, he’d be that much closer to being as awesome as the Dark Warrior was meant to be. ”Burnstorm,” he dips his head while wielding a fanged grin as he already began to pin his ears closely to his head to protect them from swipes, ”The Dark Warrior will accept your challenge! You’re in for a fright.”

With both parties having agreed to a spar, he’d waste not a second before launching an attack. With some luck he’d use his speed as a surprise. Dreampaw would burst forward on rapid paws. First he’d close in on Burnstorm in moments and aim a feint of a sheathed forepaw at his face before attempting to dive between the taller tom’s forelegs and, if unimpeded thus far, he’d flip upon his side and kick with forepaws and hindpaws to attempt to buckle his foe’s legs from under him. He knew, if successful, he needed to be prepared to roll to safety as his next move, unless he wished to be pinned under the chin or chest of his opponent without a plan.

    9 moons / ftm trans (he/him)
thunderclan apprentice / small dark tortoiseshell cat with hazel eyes.
primary character / played by yamitisane
powerplay of healing & minor offensive actions (shoving, slapping, small cuts, etc) allowed

dreampaw is a genius and eccentric cat whose sole focus is becoming stronger than he already is. he’s enthusiastic, entertaining, and loves pranks. however his looks can be deceiving as he is also aggressive and arrogant and frustratingly has the talent to make certain his words don’t go unfounded. he has a fiery and wicked gaze, speaks with a deeper voice than his appearance would suggest, has an evil laugh, and calls himself the ‘Dark Warrior.’
