γ€β—ˆγ€‘Nothing but pride bubbled in her chest. Pride in herself, in her clan, and even pride in Snakeblink. Turtledove had nothing but pride. Cool autumn air swirled through her short pelt and she couldn't help but laugh at the shiver that ran down her spine. Everything felt electric. At the entrance to camp, She looked out into her territory. It sang to her with the late greenleaf crickets and felt impossibly endless. The moon appeared over head as the sun dipped below the horizon. @PEBBLETAIL sat at her side, equally as quiet. She felt a new bond between them. Before, they were just denmates and sparring partners, but now she felt like they shared something so unique to everything she had experienced before. They were warriors together. Purring wasn't speaking, technically, so she let herself indulge in the comforting rumble in her throat.

Despite the buzzing under her skin and in her chest, Turtledove could not help but think of everyone who helped her get to here. Her parents, who she had never known, died for their clan. For the clan that would raise Turtledove. She also thought of Snakeblink, the soft-spoken and gentle tom that taught her everything. He was the closest thing she had to a parent, and she owed him so much. The brown tabby believed in her, encouraged her, and made sure she was seen. She remembers fondly that day she was handed to him. A little furball with too much energy plowing into a warrior with cool confidence and annoyed him for a solid 9 moons of training. She hoped he would remember it fondly and not paint her as a nuisance in his mind.

Her eyes dart to her counterpart with a lopsided grin. This was a silent vigil, and no words were to be spoken. So she hoped Pebbletail also felt the excitement sparking off of her even though she could not announce it. A tiny, small part of her piped up at the sight of her vigil partner and said Magpiepaw should be here too. Grief twisted in her chest, and a lump formed in her throat at the thought of her friend. They were gone too soon. They didn't even get a warrior's name. She quickly whipped her head from looking at Pebbletail and focused her eyes on the sky above her. She didn't want Pebbletail to see the tears that pricked the corners of her eyes. Starpelt twinkled as if acknowledging her thoughts and a cool comfort washed over her. If Magpiepaw couldn't be here in life, it watched over them in StarClan. It was the honor granted to each and every RiverClanner when they died. An honor, she reminded herself.

Turtledove's mind steeled and a resolve formed in her head. All of the cats that had died for their clan died with honor. She had to show StarClan and Lichenstar she was worth that honor. A determined grin formed on her face as she stared at the sky growing lighter with the rising sun. She was going to be the best warrior RiverClan has ever had. For Magpiepaw.
