❝Petals. Soft, delicate things, made to be crushed. In the same way, care for others is something to be abused, taken advantage of. It makes Deerpetal soft. It makes him weak. But at the same time, it makes him a valuable clanmate. There is not nearly enough empathy to go around in this clan of traitors and liars, this clan built and rebuilt time and time again. This clan has blood on its paws, and each kind soul who remains is just as important as each coldhearted protector
Deerpetal is a slender chocolate ticked tabby tom with a white chin, chest and underbelly.
Deerpetal is a warrior of WindClan. Rendered motherless at birth, he was raised by a hovering, overbearing father, given little opportunity to decide things for himself. He was pushed to make friends with the most well-behaved kits in the nursery, and had his training watched closely with little room for failure. His performance was mediocre due to his anxiety, with grace given more freely early in his training with his final assessment moons away. Only after losing Stormshade to yellowcough did Deerpaw begin to blossom.
A failed final assessment caused Deerpaw to have to confront his fear of disappointing his Clan. The patience of his mentor, Featherfrost, helped him push through and overcome his final hurdle, and he earned his warrior name.

Built as elegantly as his prefix's namesake, with fur as soft to the touch as his suffix's, Deerpetal could only ever be considered pretty. Though the proportions of his face and legs may be awkwardly cervine in places, it only gives him the charm of a fuzzy-flanked fawn. His face is triangular, framed by large ears and silky cheek fluff, and tapering down to a small, doll-like muzzle with a ruddy nose. Dark brown stripes adorn his face, legs and plumy tail, and his large doe eyes are lined with the color of coffee with too much milk. The fur on his back is tinted dark brown at the tips of each hair, with paler roots, giving the slow fade down to ligher shades of brown a soft airbrushed appearance. A streak of cottony white runs from his chin to the midway point of his silky underbelly.
Long, fine-boned limbs lend themselves to his deer-like appearance. The delicate look of them is deceptive, hiding the strength of a moor-runner of WindClan, able to keep pace with the rabbits and hares that make up much of their fresh-kill pile. His small paws are good for reaching into small burrows to scoop out the quarry within, and for weaving past the branches of scrub-brush and heather to pilfer the contents of plover's nests.

Deerpetal is homoflexible and monogamous. He is growing closer to Vulturepaw, oblivious to his friend's blossoming crush on him, as well as his own budding feelings.
- Difficult to make friends with, as his father pressuring him to befriend cats based on their percieved worth rather than his preferences has led him to internalize the belief that friendship is transactional.
- He wants to see the best in others, so much that it sometimes blinds him to their untrustworthiness.
Sounds quiet with dulcet tones, on the higher end of the masculine average. His accent could be described as faintly French, learned from his father, who learned to speak from Deerpetal's grandfather whose housefolk migrated from France. His accent thickens when he's upset. Voice Claim is N/A

- Poor combat. While he's skilled enough to survive a fight, his strength lies more in evasion than actual combat.
- Excels in tracking. His senses of hearing and smell are keen, and he's observant. During his apprenticeship, he memorized the sight of many different animal tracks in an effort to impress his father. It earned him the approval he craved, and he grew obsessed with honing the skill as a result.
- Good at running. He's a moor-runner of WindClan, it's a necessary skill to have.
- Excels in social perceptiveness. He can read a room with ease, though he still lacks the skill to bend it in his favor.
- Poor social skills. If he were less nervous and more charismatic, he could be a master manipulator. Perhaps it's for the best that he stumbles over his words and backtracks too much to drive home a point.
- Poor decision making. He spent his childhood having his friends chosen and his life planned out for him by his father, and he still lacks the confidence to make his own decisions most of the time.
Combat difficulty is easy-medium. He's agile enough to dodge his way through a battle, but he lacks the strength to cause any real damage with his attacks.

a soft-furred brown and white tom with copper eyes. Deerpaw is built as elegantly as his namesake. As he's aged, the roundness of kithood has melted off his frame like snow in spring, leaving a whip-thin sprite in its absence. His fine bone structure, soft brown fur, and his large ears and eyes lend themselves to his resemblance to a deer.
His face is long and pointy, testament to his mother's Oriental heritage. The silky fur of a kittypet still clings to his frame even now, two generations removed, though his mother's father had left his Twolegs and put down roots in the original colonies, and then the newly established WindClan, by the time she was born. He fears that his pelt marks him as not truly being a WindClan cat, too long and thick for hunting in gorse, too easily matted by bushes and strong winds. He grooms thrice daily, meticulously removing any tangles before they can snarl into hopeless messes, but his insecurity persists.

Deerpaw is a follower, and feels most secure when there's a strong male authority figure in his life, as if to replace his late father. His insecurity leaves him feeling isolated and alienated from his peers, though he's deeply empathetic and thus clever with causing emotions. He uses this to his advantage to try and keep himself in everyone's good graces so they won't be mad at him, and hopefully will like him. As he matures, he has started, on rare occasions, to find someone whose approval matters little to him. He thinks he has to be useful to be worth something, and finds it hard to believe it when people actually like him without him having done anything for them.
He's sensitive to his Clanmates' emotions, but his own are easily bruised as well. -
