☾ ⋆*・゚ From a distance, he could appreciate the river, as he always has and always will. He only had to wait for someone to be cunning enough to catch one; they were in there. They preferred the depth of the riverbed, and they rarely skimmed the surface of the water. Instead, they lurked on the riverbed. The idea of being so far below the surface made Rockpaw shudder, and he dug his claws into the earth to reassure himself that he was safely on land.
That was simply too big of a risk for Rockpaw to take; the river was home to too many creatures, and there were too many ways to get stuck beneath the waves and drown. On land, he could see beneath his paws and was not in danger of being knocked unconscious by the current or having something brush up against him that he couldn't see.
After all, relaxing on land wasn't all that horrible he reasoned. Rockpaw moved towards a covered area before suddenly freezing. An astonishing sight laid on the freshly killed pile, a catfish, in all its slimy silver glory dwarfed the the other fish around it. He was completely normal about walking over too it and admiring its glory.
"Whoa, look at the size of it. Oh, those whiskers are so long; I've never seen one with red fins and a white belly before." Rockpaw noted each detail in amazement. He tilted his head, pawing at the fish's soft belly, which was nearly as long as he was. "I can't believe anybody caught this! It is almost as big as I am! I'm wonder how old it is to get this big."
