"And I have homework and shit I need to do"
A soft layer of frost covered the heather and the breeze was a bit chillier than is had been in the later weeks. Leaf-bare was on the rise and it made him very nervous solely because winters never went well. There was never a good winter, it was always hard and nearly starving to death happened every year. Last year this time he had been alone in an alleyway, alone outside a twoleg house after being left there by the fire that dared enter his life. That was the hardest year for him and he wasn't sure if he'd be able to shake the fear of death this winter. Even if the embers of his smoldering home had been the comfort for a few days, there was no warm flame here. Only brittle heather and crunchy grass, and Siennachirp wasn't sure Windclan would be any better. There was a lot more mouths to feed, many kittens to care for and young cats to train, but yet there was a small glimmer of hope. Working together instead of against one another, Siennachirp felt winter would be a bit more promising.

The mink cat had been settled down by the prey pile, aqua gaze just simply cat watching his fellow clanmates. Listening to groups talk amongst themselves nearby, watching them cross the clearing or wake up from a nap, it was rather peaceful. It was his favorite pass time; just watching the clan. Making up stories about what they're doing, where they're going or what had been for them. It was never anything truthful, just harmless fun of making stuff up. A little story to a rather average cat in a way. Though it also served in his way of getting to know his clanmates due to his inability to speak. The fire had made sure Siennachirp would never speak another syllable to a cat, and it was rather frustrating. Only so many noises could he could make and try to convey his emotions.

Siennachirp gave a small sigh, and tucked a front paw under his chest as he looked to the frosted ground. Maybe he should do something today? Like go out into the territory and find some prey, help Dandelionpaw collect herbs, something like that. Something useful instead of sitting in camp complaining about how cold it was. Rising to dark paws, Siennachirp shook out his long coat and looked around camp for another moment. Maybe someone would like to come with?

Duskfire couldn't say he had any fond memories of the house he'd belonged to before joining Windclan. The place had been filthy and cramped with far too many cats and far to few resources to support them. He'd been glad the day he'd left it behind, and he'd never once slowed down or turned back after stumbling out onto the streets for the first time and bolting. No, he'd put as much distance between himself and that hellscape as he could, locking away any guilt he might have had over leaving the others behind. They'd chosen their fate and he'd chosen his. And honestly? Windclan was the best thing that had ever happened to the copper tomcat. He knew there were cats in the clan that had their issues with how things were handled sometimes, but at the end of the day the moorland clan was a far better alternative to some of the other things out there. And quite frankly, after having seen the kind of horror shows he had, Duskfire couldn't help but find a lot of what went on in Windclan rather tame. Not that he agreed with every single thing he say, because he couldn't honestly say he'd have handled certain situations the same way as some of his clanmates had- but still. Life wasn't perfect, and you had to pick and choose your battles. It was a controversial way of seeing things, but even as the clans Deputy, Dusk had only been a member of Windclan for three months, and a majority of that time had seen him as public enemy number one with many of his peers.

Luckily though, time settled most things. Any ruffled feathers over his sudden promotion had mostly been laid flat, and the large feline was nowhere near as uncertain as he'd been when he'd first joined. While he couldn't say he'd made much progress on the social front, Dusk knew his place in the clan now and no longer lacked the confidence to wield the power he possessed. Of course, he may have chosen to trade some of that confidence in exchange for emotional experience if he'd been allowed, because it fucking sucked having to experience so much loss and grief for the first time at his age. All he could really do to keep himself sane was just throw himself into work or, when that wasn't available, awkward social situations in some ill made attempt to keep himself distracted from his own thoughts. At that current moment he had neither of those things to distract himself with, however. Instead, the copper tomcat was absent-mindedly chewing on a rabbit bone leftover from the lunch he'd just finished, seemingly caught up in his own throughts.

windclan warrior - male - 21 months - homosexual - polyamorous - single - tall, strong bengal tomcat

She had spotted them, the lioness of Windclan slowly stalked towards her targets, one a coat of chocolate brown, the other a golden sky littered with rosette spots. Her haunches would wiggle slightly as she sunk low to the ground and her bi-colored optics would narrow ever so slightly as she spotted Siennachirp move just close enough to Duskfire for her to smile in mischievous glee.

Just a moment more.....a little bit longer.....NOW!

She would let out a playful yowl as her slime frame soared across the way, a pounce aimed for her deputy and friend, and should her aim be true, it was sure that the pair would end up rolling into their other friend, Sienna, just as her familiar snorting laugh left her nostrils and she lay flat in the dust, "I got you BOTH this time!" She would mew happily, her tumble leaving her on her back with her paws dangling in the air and her tail swishing happily, "I've been waiting forever for you two to let your guards down."

She would roll over like an energized puppy, shaking out her fur and releasing a cloud of dust from her pelt before she smiled brightly at her friends, "Are you going out, Sienna? Can I come? Duskfire why don't you join us? We can have a race and see if I'm still the fastest." A teasing smirk would form on her maw as she spoke in her usual confidence, tail lashing behind her to add emphasis to her boasting words.

"And I have homework and shit I need to do"
Siennachirp stood there for a moment, just watching the camp for a moment before his eyes laid upon Duskfire. Perfect! Maybe he could give him a patrol or something together! Though as he neared the bengal tomcat he hesitated a bit with his ears flicking back slightly. Maybe he would be a bother to the deputy? He had better things to do than just mess with the likes him of, despite the desperate need for the toms' attention. So, he was about to turn and walk away from Duskfire, before he got too close to be questionable, when there was a force behind his shoulder.

Siennachrip made the mistake of tensing up and stiffening his legs, so it sent him tumbling over much harder into Duskfire than it would normally. He gave a loud squeak noise in surprise and rolled in the dust for a moment before sitting up with a huff. Sandwhisper He thought and instantly got up to his paws to bound over to the sandy she-cat. He gave a series of noises with a silent laugh and headbutted her shoulder. One of his close friends, he adored Sandwhisper and how coule he be mad at such a bright face?

With his mind elsewhere, it wasn't hard for Sandwhisper to get the drop on him. Too concerned with the mindless gnawing of the bone in his jaws, it wasn't until he was suddenly tumbling through the dirt that he realized one of his clanmates had been stalking up behind him- and by then it was far too late to do anything. He grunted as he rolled to a stop after being knocked into Sierrachirp, the triumphant cry of "I got you BOTH this time!" quickly giving away his attackers identity. Sandwhisper. She had a habit of making him the target of her mischief, especially lately, but he couldn't say he wasn't grateful for it. He'd rather be knocked through the dirt as an unknowing training dummy than let himself sink into his own depression, and so he forced himself to chuckle as he reached out to playfully swipe at the shecats ears from where they were both sprawled on the ground, slowly pulling himself to his feet afterwards with an apologetic look toward Siennachirp- who he'd ended up smacking into.

"Your a real menace, you know that?" he chided the femme, the smirk tilting the edges of his lips upwards lending playfulness to his tone. The shecat had always seemed willing to overlook his shortcomings, her outgoing nature allowing her to make the first moves that Duskfire often felt to apprehensive to make himself. Fear of failure could stop you from ever trying in the first place, and this was something that rang true with his social life. Thankfully, there were cats in the clan who seemed to have enough insight to cover themselves and Dusk.

As for Siennachirp, the brown and black tomcat wasn't someone the Deputy had spent a lot of one on one time with. Of course, that could likely be attributed to the fact that Dusk didn't spend a lot of personal time with anyone outside of Inky, and with them no gone that meant that any spare time he had was usually spent alone unless Sandwhisper or Hyacinthbreath took pity on him. Lately though, it had been hard not to notice the other. They were good friends with Sandwhisper and would often join her on patrols or general mischief throughout camp, and quite frankly the bengal had expected them to eventually get dragged into something like this.

"Oh, your on. You won by like, a mouse-length last time. There's no way you beat me again." he replied, knowing it had been more than that, but not willing to back down from a challenge. Besides, it wasn't as if Dusk was slow. Sure, he still hadn't caught a rabbit, but that wasn't so much because he lacked speed as it was that he lacked grace, and those sharp turns had a tendency to throw him off balance. He was far more suited to snatching birds out of the air or chasing squirrels up trees, but running in a fairly straight path? He could haul ass when he needed to, and he was more than happy to give Sandwhisper another run for her money.

"What do you think, Siennachirp- I'll win this time, right?" he asked, green eyes flashing toward the other tomcat with playful expectancy.

WINDCLAN DEPUTY - TOM - A LARGE COPPER-GOLD BENGAL WITH GREEN EYES

Living just to find emotion

A purr of friendly affection would be her response to Siennachirps headbutt, and she would roll her eyes playfully as her ear was scuffed and she aimed to bat at the tom a few times in return. "In your dreams, spots." She would murr in further laughter and she smiled warmly at the pair as Duskfire spoke, the question of his chances more directed towards Sienna.

As his attention was away from her, Sandwhisper would waggle metaphorical eyebrows at the quiet brown tom as she nodded encouragingly. Of course, she was well aware of the mute tom's adorable crush on the deputy and as such, she was supportive friend number one in this cute endeavor!

Waiting for Sienna to give his response, Sandwhisper would smile in a cheeky manner before tapping them both with her tail and meowing happily, "Enough chatter! Let's put those words to the test, Duskfire. I'm due for some easy work anyway."

She sticks her tongue out at them both from over her shoulder as she leads the way out of camp, making sure to wait for them both as they are greeted by the strong chilly wind of the moorlands. "Which direction should we go in? We need a lot of space for this race of ours."
