Today had been good, the tunnels had been repaired as needed and she had even caught something! She finally returns in the late afternoon, before the sun dips below the horizon, when oranges and pinks stretch across the sky and a golden glow is cast across the camp. She carries her rabbit with pride until she spots Celandinepaw on the sidelines of camp. She perks up, makes a beeline for her, each paw-step a silent vow of conviction. She wants to check on her.
"Heya, kiddo." her words are gentle, soft as she approaches, muffled by the rabbits fur in her mouth. It tumbles from her mouth as she draws to a stop, hitting the ground with a soft thud that kinda makes her cringe. Its a bit bittersweet to see her like this, because on one paw, Stoat can see the kind of cat that Celandine has grown to, hard-working and devoted... But on the other paw, she's probably stressed, Wolfsong hasn't returned to camp in... days. This just leaves Celandine to fight the disease by herself within the confines of camp.
Stoat wouldn't let her overwork herself to the point of burning out, or at least she'd try.
"Ya' got time to share this with me?" she gestures downwards towards the rabbit. Her stomach growls in punctuation which makes her snicker for just a second. It's been a long day, after all... Regardless of whether Celandine settles down to share, or declines, she tries to strike a conversation: "Hopefully leaf-fall makes the heat go away." It's lame, but... Worried eyes flit over the apprentice for just a second, trying to gauge how she feels. Hopefully, being garrulous, as she often is, would help lighten the mood.
