// Tagging @SUNSETBREEZE and @OWLTALON but no need to wait for them. Anyone is free to join the hunting patrol.

"If you haven't got a duty right this second then get over here! We're organising some teams for a hunting patrol!" Galeforce found himself pacing to and fro at the main entrance to the camp, an itch to get going rubbing him the wrong way. He just wanted to hurry up so he could aim to keep his promise of ensuring everyone had a meal that evening. Eventually he managed to pause long enough in order to look over at the other warriors, a look of determination in his eyes. "We'll spread out and cover as much ground as possible. I want the moorland near horseplace, outlook rock, and around the sun-warmed pool to be our main targets today. Remember to keep an eye out for predators and rogues, I don't want anyone getting caught out."

TAGS The little apprentice hurries over upon Galeforce's call, looking rather serious as she nods along with his orders. And for good reason; they have an important job ahead of them, especially given the tough season. There are many empty bellies to be filled, and many sick ones who probably desperately need the nutrients to recover. Juniperfrost's command lingers in her mind — no returning without food to show for it. She won't let him down, or the rest of the Clan. She can't afford to.

Ears would prick forward at the summons, and Ghost rose to his feet to make his way toward Galeforce, a hulking mass of grey and white and stripes. "I'll come along." he stated, not having anything better to do right then and there and always eager for a chance to fill his time with something more meaningful that chasing his own thoughts. "I can head to Outlook Rock, unless you want me elsewhere?" the tom suggested, not really caring one way or another where they went, but he assumed there'd be easier hunting near Horseplace and the Sunwarmed Pool, so he didn't mind leaving that to the apprentices to give them better odds.

Dread gnawed at the tabby's belly as they heard the call for a hunting patrol, the eye contact made with the patrol leader being enough of an indicator that they wouldn't be able to escape with an excuse this time around. Snailpaw dragged their paws as they approached, standing next to Icepaw and gawking at Ghoststrike as they offered to hunt at Outlook Rock. Their ears pricked optimistically once they realised what that meant for them, a smile beginning to creep up on the slate feline's maw. "I can grab the horseplace!" They offered optimistically. It was one of their favourite places in WindClan territory, the threat of twolegs and dogs had not changed that. Between the barn and the twoleg nest, there was so much that could be explored, and the large horses that roamed the fields there had pelts almost as colourful as theirs! It was like StarClan to the puppy-like apprentice, though, they were aware that today's patrol was no great adventure. There was a lot for them all to do, even if Snailpaw did not want to spend his days hunting, with the healthiest warriors riddled with greencough, it was up to them to step up.

For the most part her mentor often sent her out hunting alone if they didn't' accompany her themselves something Firepaw could discern was good or bad; on one paw no one saw her fail on the other no would saw her triumph it was a dual sided bladed. She needed to show them she had what it took that she wasn't some half-baked failure of a Tunneler who wasn't even good enough to be a proper Moor-runner. She wasn't a kit she'd be trying so hard, she'd gotten stronger every moon that passed sure she was a little slow on her paws in the snow but she was working at it! She really was! She wouldn't let anyone tell her differently! She wouldn't back away from a challenge despite the fear of failure, she couldn't be seen as a coward so she resigns herself to padding over to Galeforce and the cats he'd already gathered trying her best to look determined as she marched up but that look of determination wanes as her eyes fall on the pale fur of a self imposed rival. She bites her lip and continues to walk but her direction changes so she comes to walk closer to her, attempting to shoulder Icepaw as she came to stand besides her - not enough to push her over or hurt her but enough to get her attention ❝I'll let you take a bite out of whatever I catch, your failure will make it taste all the sweeter❞ she meows softly above the she-cats ear before as if she'd said nothing at all turning to look up at Galeforce.

❝I'll tag along with Ghoststrike❞ she'd say, it's not much of a offer to go with him as a statement, she thought if she could impress the intimidating former rogue then well it would be smooth sialing to impress the rest of her clanmates. Plus she wanted to see for herself how the rogue went about things, maybe he had some special tactics he could teach her.

"Y'all crazy for wantin' to hunt in this weather. It's colder than yesterday!" The complaints are loud enough to stand out, but the long-legged tom still shoves his way through the snow to stand next to Galeforce, grinning exhaustedly towards the tom. He was younger than him, and yet stuck in control of the patrol. How sad for the guy, being in charge of this raggedy ass bunch. "How about we all go to Outlook Rock and hunt in different places? Genius, oui?" He suggests sarcastically, a hint of irritation in his voice. Naw, he wasn't gonna stick around to deal with these cats.

Shoving past the two apprentices present, Owltalon sticks his back paw out and attempts to shove Firepaw over into the snow with a sturdy kick. What? She wanted to act like a little shit, he'd treat her like one. Kick it over and keep movin' on! He saunters off to begin his own hunt, nose twitching and sniffling as he tries to smell for any prey. But there's nothing yet.

Until the little white tail of a rabbit catches her attention.

"Ooooh shiiiit. Y'all, snow hare. First one to get it gets.. Somethin', I dunno. I just wanna see Firepaw fail, little sassy-fur."

// feel free to have your character ignore him! he's just picking fun before he himself chases the hare.

Sunsetbreeze was tired and starving not even remembering when he last had eat himself full, or what it even felt like anymore to go with a satisfied stomach. All he did was hunt, most times he didn't find anything but once he did and manged to capture it the prey was given to somebody else who needed it, like the elders or the kits. The worst part was that he no longer looked as elegant and beautiful that he once had no matter how much he tried to make himself look good every single day the weight loss was effecting his fur as well, and he was too tired sometimes to even groom himself. Would this nightmare ever end?.

At least he had Galeforce. A comforting reminder as he stood beside them, sending them a side glance. Sunsetbreeze wondered how they thought he looked right now?. It was almost embarrassing to have themstand beside him when he looked the way he did. While Galeforce organized the hunting patrols Sunsetbreeze would stand silently as he observed them. He had to admit watching Galeforce take control and boss their clanmates around like this...it really made him even more attractive...handsome looking...

Sunsetbreeze blinked, catching himself in his own thinking. What on earth had he just been thinking about?!. He quickly looked at the other direction, an annoyed look upon his features whilst his cheeks heated. Owltalon was a...real distraction with how loud he was. The warrior would turn his attention over to them next, his embarassment from before being somewhat controled for now. " Dosent matter what sort of weather we have. As warriors it's our duty to make sure this clan gets fed." he would remind them, not amused by this warrior childlike behavior.

To turn his mood even more sour Owltalon just had to fool around even more by shoving Firepaw into the snow, or at least an attempt to. It made his eyes narrow sharply. " Owltalon can you just try to take this more seriously." he said firmly before a sigh would escape him, too tired for this. He was so hungry which made him on the foulest mood. Deciding to give up on this childish show knowing it would be no point in the end he would mutter quietly for only Galeforce ears to hear him. " You better not team me up with that one, Gale." His patience wouldn't tolerate it. Sunsetbreeze better be out there hunting on his own then deal with cats like Owltalon right now. So Galeforce better not!. He swore...Galeforce nest would get pushed further from his own later if he even dared think that thought.
