Being free of the medicine den was a strange feeling. He knew the mold of the sick-nest well, the scent of herbs even better. He really did come to detest the scent of them, but that was a story for another day. But being cured, given the blessing of lungwort, he knew was no feat from the Stars. It was at the paws- and deaths- of the journey cats, precious life ferried from snow fields back to the forests. And among them was Falconpaw's very own mentor.

He wanted to talk to him. He had thought about Greeneyes, even as he was dying. And Falconpaw knew that he was dying- in the ways cats who were simply injured in the battles looked at him as they came through. Falconpaw pushed to his paws from the apprentice den, stepping out into camp, vision sweeping for Greeneyes.

It was a cause for worry, Falconpaw's absence upon Greeneyes' return home. Rightfully so — between sickness and the rogues he'd learned of the moment he arrived back to camp, something could have happened to his apprentice.

It's the unfortunate truth; something did happen. Yellowcough got Falconpaw too, and left the kid confined to the medicine den. It's a worry that the young lead had held onto for the duration of the journey. A fear that his apprentice — his sisters, his best friend, the clan — would be no more, gone to the stars before his paws could return to the pine forest.

He should be glad no one listened when he protested against splitting up. He should be relieved that the lungwort was delivered first, for what would he have returned to, if their two groups returned as one large, delayed group? Greeneyes can't help the guilt he feels for it; for holding the opinion he had while Falconpaw remained sick. His apprentice could've died — others too, he's certain — and it would've been all his fault.

But, Falconpaw is strong. The tom knows that about his apprentice. He is strong and resilient, and getting better every day, to the point of being able to move out of the medicine den. They'll be back to training again soon.

The lead warrior emerges from his den to get a start on his day, white paws reaching forward in a stretch. His plans for the morning are uncertain, as he rises to his paws, a yawn escaping his maw. Perhaps he can go hunting? Maybe check up on Butterflytuft and her kits? A verdant gaze sweeps the camp before he makes a decision, brightening at the azure gaze he catches instead, a chocolate-pointed form lingering outside of the apprentice den.

"Falconpaw!" he calls, before striding over to the younger tom. It's good to see him up and about — his apprentice looks better than the last time he'd seen him, thank the stars. "How are you feeling, amigo? Better?" Maybe they can start their lessons back up earlier than he'd thought.

Falconpaw had almost died- and he knew he was dying, too. No visions had greeted him, unlike the rumor of some of the other cats who spoke about the stars speaking to them. No, Falconpaw hadn't been granted any sight of way lay beyond, but he knew well enough that he could've easily died. And it was sickening to even dwell about or think about- regardless, though. He was happy Greeneyes was back.

And as the sight of the warrior, his ears perked up, heading towards him with smaller and weaker steps then that of Greeneyes. Not exactly halfway, but an effort was made. He stretched his head up- then his body a moment later, as he had just risen and it needed a good stretch- before he relaxed and spoke to his mentor. "Better? A bit. I'm still... having dizzy spells here and there." Falconpaw stated, before looking his mentor up and down.

"You look..." His mind whispered a tangle of words- stronger, leaner. Tired. Falconpaw wasn't sure which one to go with, but a tiny crinkle of a grin touched his muzzle. "Healthier then I do." Falconpaw decided, his vision turning back to Greeneye's optics. The apprentice slowly settled down, making sure not to topple over while his tail tucked back against his side. "How was.. the journey? I only got tidbits here and there from cats passing in and out of the dens." The apprentice finally asked, curiosity spreading through the blue irises of his.
