A S H P A W
Ashpaw loves being an apprentice-- especially because she gets to leave the camp!
It's the height of all her dreams. Exploring the territory, learning to swim and fish, following starstruck behind Willowroot and training to be a real RiverClanner. The last couple days, Ashpaw has ventured out of camp time and time again, always by her mentor's side-- and most of the time with Steeppaw too, bantering and tussling over who's gonna be the best.
Today the sun's hot in the sky, and Willowroot is busy. Ash determines that it is excellent fishing weather, and in turn-- naturally-- she elects to go fishing. After all, she's an apprentice now-- she can hunt for her clan and bring home food for the kits and elders. (Just like a real RiverClanner!)
Ashpaw leaps to her feet, lifts her head high, puffs her little orange chest out and strolls proudly toward the camp entrance.
She has forgotten one crucial fact: that she can leave the camp, but she's not supposed to go alone, and she is very much supposed to ask permission.
Nope, the only thing Ash has got on her mind is the big beautiful fish she's gonna catch with her claws of steel and giant awesome muscles. Excitement sets her paws moving faster, and she scampers out of the camp entrance, unaware of the icy blue gaze whose focus she draws.
