Everyone who knew Featherspine would know him as a blistering perfectionist, someone who burst his eyes bloodshot before daring to fail at anything. As an apprentice she had been a ruthless worker, had hardly wanted even Bluepool to have a break- she had demanded more out of her mentor than the silver molly had ever asked out of him. On patrols he never took a break from this tireless effort, narrowed eyes and teeth gnashing criticism. It was unlucky for the poor recipient- Lakepaw, who had made the awful mistake of playing a prank on her moons ago- that Featherspine had sharp owl's eyes embedded into her very being, perception glimmering from solar shards, rivalled by few others.
Hhe would catch nothing with a starting crouch that sloppy, though. "Straighten yourself out, Lakepaw," Featherspine instructed, tail slightly lashing. Perched in her own immaculately-carved hunting crouch, she slunk dlowly behind he apprentice's body. "You risk losing your b-b-balance, and losing that means losing a p-puh... p-precious meal for those who need it." It was a close hunting crouch, certainly... fine, acceptable. But who wouldn't strive for exception, given the chance?
