Dragondance sat in the corner of camp in spot shaded by a large tree. His eyes flitted uninterestedly between his Clanmates, mostly just looking for his sister, Wyrmwind. She seemed way more into this whole "Daylight Warrior" thing than he was but he couldn't leave her to do it alone. Besides, he had to admit, it was a bit...fun. He doesn't quite think he's as ready leave his twolegs permanently as his littermate might be but he did enjoy coming to stretch his legs (however that may be). Shaking his pelt out and standing with a stretch, the tom began pacing the perimeter of camp, paws itching for something to do. After all, he had to remain a diligent member of the community if he wanted to stick around to keep an eye on Wyrm.

His ears twitched at the sound of bird chatter. Maybe he should hunt? The thought certainly crossed his mind but he wasn't dumb enough to think he was capable of hunting on his own. Wyrmwind was a much better hunter than he. Maybe now would be a time to make friends? It would be better than hunting alone. Dragondance wasn't much of a talker though...The Havana Brown frowned disconcertedly at the thought. Making more friends would make him feel more included, and possibly more at home here, but he was not exactly the type to start conversation. 'Maybe today I should try.' He began slowly walking further towards the center of the camp clearing, hoping to maybe run into someone easy to start conversation.

'If only Wyrmwind were here. Then I wouldn't even be dealing with this mess.'

Blue eyes scanned the camp with a sense of desperation as Snowy sought out the familiar form of Edenberry. However, as he spun around he became abruptly aware that he was on a collision course with another cat. The white kit sank his claws into the ground before he could make contact, but it didn’t stop him from feeling the heat of embarrassment as he looked up at Dragondance. He didn’t know this warrior so it only made him more nervous. ”S-sorry, I didn’t see you there.”

Snowy backed up a few paces in order to put a more respectful distance between them both, and at least now he could get a good look at the older tom. ”I’m Snowy, wh-who are you?” If this cat was in SkyClan then surely they weren’t a threat, right? It was best to make friends anyway.

perhaps in another life, she had the luxury to become a daylight warrior. if the windows weren’t always glued shut, her sister hadn’t left the way she did, or her owner never got sick… she would have enjoyed the leniency of it. help out whenever you can, leave as you please, her paws don’t feel trapped within the pine roots, although there are days where she gazes past the borders.

because of skyclan’s chronically open borders, bloomfur struggles to remember who is who. there’s always somebody that slips under her radar, and ironically, it’s always the daylight warriors. she kind recognized the solid cat with the dark collar, she squints at him from afar as she ponders this. he looks so… timid. like a mouse. snowy accidentally bumps into him, and the tension is thick from here. the new warrior bounds over, butting into the conversation before dragondance could respond.

"would you guys either have the talons of a bird or the spines of a porcupine?" she asks curiously, blinking at the two.

Green eyes widened slightly as a small bundle of fur nearly collided with him. However, it wasn't long before they narrowed again- thankfully in curiosity. "Snowy?" He echoed, a slightly confused expression on his face. That sounded like a house cat- no, kittypet is what they call it here- name. He can't imagine someone would bring their kit out here, nor did he believe this little scrap made it out here on their own. Before he could answer, a she-cat came bounding up to the unlikely pair asking the most bizarre question Dragondance has ever heard. "...Why would a kit have either of those things?" The tom asked with a genuinely confuddled frown. "Let alone any cat, for that matter."

Were all Clan cats this weird? He felt it was going to take him awhile to understand the appeal that his sister saw living with these...new friends. Right, he was standing here right now trying to make friends. Trying to change his expression from confused (despite how much he was) to friendly, he glanced back down at the white kit before him. "I'm Dragondance. You may have seen my sister, Wyrmwind, around here. She looks like me, kind of." Not sure if that would really help his case but didn't hurt to mention. Dragondance glanced at Bloomfur. "Uh...what's your name?" 'Hopefully she's not as...eccentric...as she seems.'

Confusion swept over Snowy as he turned his head slowly towards Bloomfur as she inquired about whether or not they possessed talons or spines. The youth’s mouth hung open in stunned awe and bafflement as he tried to process what was being asked. Fortunately Dragondance was already talking again and raising the obvious. ”I… I don’t even know what a poor-q-pine even is.” Was it some sort of small tree? He knew what a pine tree was, they had needles or spines, right?

Returning his focus back to Dragondance he savoured the moment of normal conversation again. ”I don’t think I’ve met her, sorry. Though I haven’t been here for long. But I’ll try to keep an eye out for them.” Thus far he found Dragondance pleasant enough so he imagined Wyrmwind would be much the same. Though right now it was Bloomfur who remained the mystery to him as he looked towards the she-cat with a look of curiosity.

"Oh my stars, your sister's name is Worm? And you're... Draggin'... HAHA!" Cherryblossom can't help the peal of laughter that escapes her. Like Bloomfur, the open borders made it an absolute chore to keep track of every new face within them. She'd tried harder as deputy, seeing as that was one of the faces of the clan, but without that burden she saw little need to unless they distinguished themselves by seeking her out themselves. Or made themselves notable in other, unfortunate ways.

She hovers besides Doeblaze's sister, the last of her giggles giving way to self-satisfied decorum. "I'm so sorry," she meows, wiping daintily at her eyes. Whether she's apologizing for laughing at him or the decisions of his twolegs remains unclear. Snowy, with no real life experience to speak of, doesn't seem to have picked up on the source of Cherryblossom's great amusement. She pities him a bit; her kitten self would've also laughed her tail off, and she would've been an apprentice at his age.

Still filled with good humor, she casts a glance towards the sky-eyed molly besides her. "That was a weird question." Blinking down at Snowy, she belatedly adds, "A porcupine is like a big rat with quills instead of fur." A slight grimace crawls across her muzzle. Both talons and spines have stolen the lives of cats before, and she'd been more than witness to one of them. "You'll know one when you see it. If you meet one, stay clear of it." One of Edenberry's mentors had died to one, though she doesn't think it fit to tell a kitten that, especially not now.

ooc: i'm sorry about her!! all ic opinions, i really like their names <3

bloomfur frowns, no, nearly pouts that her clanmates disregard her icebreaker so quickly. she didn’t blink an eye at snowy’s name, not too long ago she was carrying her ‘loner’ name. when orangestar blessed her with the new name, bloomfur thought she’d mourn crochet. the feelings were gone after one night. "i’m bloomfur! but i’ve only been a warrior for a moon."

the humorous connotations of dragon and wyrm’s name was lost on the molly. an ear flicks at cherryblossom’s guffaw, looking at the three cats before her, yet a smile still twitches on her maw.

"it’s not weird. it’s a thinker! i think i’d have the talons of a bird… spines would be too bothersome." she protests, her tail thumping against the ground.

while the former deputy explains what the animal is, and grimaces, bloomfur doesn’t realize the connotations of her questions. she never knew the cat who scummed to a porcupine’s quills, or the journey for lungwort. the warning goes completely over her head, as she begins to half-daydream about having bird claws for paws.

Dragondance raised an eyebrow as Cherryblossom approached, seemingly finding his and Wyrmwind's name the most humorous thing one could possibly imagine. Though he didn't really understand why the she-cat was laughing so hard. "Yes, those are our names." He replied with a whisk of his tail- the only indicator that he was slightly annoyed by her poking fun. He glanced back down at Snowy for a moment as the young kit explained that he had yet to set eyes on Wyrmwind. "I'm sure you'll see her around eventually." 'She spends more time here than at home.' He thought ruefully. Despite his less than eager thoughts, he had to admit it was nice having cats other than his own sister to speak with.

Once Cherryblossom had finished her little...episode, Dragondance shrugged at Snowy, secretly hoping he wasn't going to feel belittled by a kit as well. 'Well...maybe I should give Cherryblossom more than just one chance.' The tom thought to himself. He could practically hear Wyrmwind nagging him to learn to get along with Clanmates and better learn the Clan's ways. Stifling a sigh, he gave a firm nod to the she-cat (smiling isn't really his thing) before glancing back over to Bloomfur.

"Wait, you were asking if we would choose to have those attached to us?" He really misread that. He tilted his head at the other she-cat curiously, confused frown still very much present on his face. "Hmm...I think I'd have to agree with you on the talons. They're strong. I wouldn't want to be hit by those." He conceded, nodding his head slowly, clearly deep in thought. Turning his attention back to Cherryblossom, Dragondance looked at her questioningly. "What about you? And you too, Snowy?" The tom may not be the most sociable, but he wasn't one to leave a kit out of a conversation that they started.

(
ooc: no worries, same here !! and thank you <3 )

Snowy found himself flicking his ears back when the sound of Cherryblossom’s laughter reached his right ear when she mocked the names of Dragondance and Wyrmwind. He didn’t think it fair, but he didn’t exactly speak up for the tom either. The kit was too nervous for that, and it didn’t help that he too found the names odd. Then again he still viewed everyone’s names as being quite strange.

The kit merely offered a nod when Cherryblossom tried to elaborate on what a porcupine looked like, but it made no difference really in his head. Quietly, the young kit leaned closer to Dragondance so he could whisper; ”What’s a rat?” He tried to keep his voice low as to avoid letting Cherryblossom hear him, lest he too be pinned under that same loud laughter.

So the whole thing had been about what he would rather have out of talons and quills? It certainly put a far less nutty perspective on Bloomfur. ”Um… I dunno… talons, I guess? They would help with climbing, right?” They were basically big claws, if he recalled correctly. The beginnings of a smile seemed to creep across his face as he viewed things more like a game, one that he’d like to continue. Looking a little bolder, the kit looked at the older cats before speaking again. ”Would you rather have feathers like a pigeon, or scales like a lizard?”
