What transpired with Basilpaw's confession and subsequent rejection from Halfpaw refuses to cease from her mind. It is not because she feels bad for the apprentice, no, not at all. What plagues her is Thrasherthroat's words. How he could claim he knew fate? Everything else was irrelevant and there was no need to file through the words of Singepaw or Basilpaw. Perhaps she is going about it the wrong way, but she can't rest if this proceeds to eat at her. How annoying. It's time to find Thrasherthroat. The task is dreadful, as she didn't particular care for any of her clanmates outside of family. Going up to different warriors to ask for Thrasherthroat was painful, as many would ask her what for. It would do them some good to mind their business. She never answered those questions, repeating the same question of where is Thrasherthroat? It was a bit of a wild goose chase that any sane cat would have given up for the day from sheer frustrations.
Eventually she found the warrior in question and padded up to him. "I must speak to you about you being certain there was someone for Basilpaw." She would not partake in small talk and get to the point. There was little sense in trying to be friendly with him when there was something she desired to know. "As I said then. You will never know what fate has in store for someone just as I wouldn't know. Whether or not we die alone or with a lover is not something we can discern." Love was not the topic of this interaction. Vulturesong did not fancy anyone. When she was an apprentice she showed no interest in it compared to some of her denmates at the time giggling late at night or sharing nests. It was absolutely agonizing to try and rest for the harsh training of Coldgaze when her denmates would never stop cooing at each other. The thought of slitting their throats was tempting.
Anyhow, she finishes interrogating poor Thrasherthroat with this, "Why would you say such a thing?"
