After a long afternoon of extended sparring with Sunstride, Adderpaw found himself near the sun-warmed pool. Chocolate and ivory paws dip into the soothing liquid below, dangling over the minor edge. As he lays down tense, sore muscles begin to melt and relax. Dark lids cover eyes of hellfire as he releases a low, tired breath. He's unaware of how much time passed but he does grasp the sound of paws encroaching ever closer. His tattered ear swivels backward before his gaze falls upon an alabaster figure. "Whitepaw." He greets with a loose flick of the tail, turning his attention back to the pool below. "I thought you would have been in the tunnels." The sun was only just beginning to wane from its highest point in the sky. Her questionable expression leads him to continue on. "I come here to soak my paws after particularly rough training." It kept them from reaching the point of cracking and needing to go see Wolfsong for treatment. Which in turn allowed him to maximize his training time. (@whitepaw)

Training with Ambertail was an experience, one that Whitepaw often enjoyed. However, as of late, the training sessions have started occurring more during the day, causing her to be exposed more and more. Yet, she pushed past it, despite the discomfort it often caused her. She would be fine. After the other day, when she and Thriftpaw and others started a splash fight, which helped cool off, Whitepaw often tried to go back to the sun-warmed pool when she could. Through her squinted and somewhat watery eyes, she spotted a familiar tabby pelt relaxing by the water and walked over, curious. "Hi." She greeted softly to her friend as he gives her a greeting in return, which causes a slight smile. Her ears twitched as she considered his question. "Ambertail and I finished training early." She explained, though admittedly she wished they had continued for longer. The sun's rays were beaming on her back with the sun at such a high point. It was far from pleasant. Tilting her head, she watched her friend curiously as she went to settle down by the pool. "Ah." She made a noise as she heard her friend. "That's smart." She mumbled lightly, closing her eyes to not strain them with the sunlight reflecting off the water's surface. "I never came by the pool before too often." She added, slightly opening a squinted eye to peer at her friend. "I did a couple of days ago, and a bit of a splash fight started. It made cooling off nice." She explained quietly.
[I'M BREATHING]

If there was a splash fight, it had probably been Bluepool who was the figurehead of such a thing. She lounges next to the sun-warmed pool now, her own paws submerged in the warm, healing, water and her scrap of a tail flicks lazily back and forth behind her as she stares at the two apprentices with half-lidded golden colored eyes. She too liked to come here after a particularly long day of racing around the moors. After their training, she had told Juniperpaw that he could either accompany her here or go back to camp, his choice. She almost always gave him a choice in what to do in his downtime or for chores. For example, when attending his apprentice duties she might ask him, 'would you rather clean out the fresh kill pile or attend to the elders?' the only time she ordered him to do a task was when it was something that urgently needed to be done.

She watches her nephew and Whitepaw speak with indifference. As long as they weren't interrupting her relaxation time they were of little consequence to her, though a flick of her shade colored ear indicated that she was listening to their conversation and finally she does give a little input. "If you two want we can have a splash fight again, I warn you though, I am the champion of the sun warmed pool" you can tell by her tone that her heart is not entirely in the offer, as comfortable as she currently is, but still, she offers.

The sun beating down upon her back makes Scorchstreak wince as she pulls herself from the tunnel she’s spent much of the day working on. A stretch of it has needed reinforced, and so she’s taken it upon herself to do the bulk of the work. The more menial tasks she completes now, the less she’ll have to do later, when work on the new tunnel is in full swing.

Dirt clings to her flame-striped pelt as she exits the tunnel and makes her way toward the best place she can think of for cooling off. The familiar pool of water has a few inhabitants today, but she welcomes the sight of her clanmates. As long as she can keep an eye on them, they will be safe. And so the she-cat settles down beside Bluepool, offering a friendly flick of her ear to the other warrior. "I’m of no use in a splash fight, but I could use a dip in the pool" she murmurs, golden gaze flicking to Adderpaw and Whitepaw. They are responsible apprentices, intelligent, and she commends them for knowing them they need to take breaks. It is better for them to take a break from their duties for one afternoon than to end up stuck in Wolfsong’s den for days.

( 🐍 ) His dark coat was definitely not doing any favors for him even if he had a shorter coat than others, a soft huff leaving his maw after having done some of his earlier duties such as hunting. Large paws carrying him to the direction of the pool much like Scorchstreak wanting to cool off from the heat, his tufted ears perking up at the sight of his other clanmates gathered around. Venomstrike offered a ghost of s mile before overhearing Bluepool mentioning a splash fight, he must've missed the last one which was a shame though he would playfully say to her "Not for l-long," His tone challenging but in a playful sense and a mischievous twinkle in his buttercup hued eyes.

He found a place where he could lay down and briefly let his paws dip into the pool, he enjoyed seeing the little ripples that he caused. The moor runner resting his head on his front limbs in a relaxed manner and unsheathed his claws for a moment before retracting them back, he could do for one lazy day or a quick break before going to help. Venomstrike's short tail waving in greeting to the apprentices that were present and if they glanced in his direction, his eyes half closed. The sunlight warming his coat a little too much making him just a tad drowsy, maybe he'd sink into the pool a little after.

Dark ears swivel as he listens, a single brow rising in a slow manner. Splash fight? The thought of such a thing sounded quite childish in his mind. A game reserved for young kits, not strong warriors and training apprentices. A blast of breath flutters from his nares as he adjusts his weight upon his elbows, tail flicking behind him. "Really now...?" He murmurs dryly. Amber eyes shift to fall upon his aunt as she proclaims herself windclan's splashing champion. A twinge of disappointment flashes across his face as he begins to pull his paws from the sun-warmed pool. Why would Bluepool waste time playing games? "No." He mutters rather abruptly, shaking droplets of water from dripping paws.

Adderpaw gifts a curt nod of greeting in the directions of both Scorchstreak and Venomstrike as they appear, waiting until they settle in before speaking again. "I've noticed the rabbits are harder to spot during the day. They must be sticking to their tunnels to escape the heat." Not that he blamed them. The summer heat burned the length of his back as they spoke.

"Yes! Really!" she shoots back to her young nephew, scooping water with her paw and lazily flinging it at him, it wasn't enough to soak him but enough that a few drops must have landed on him, an invitation if he was willing though she knows the answer is probably not. Adderpaw was as much as chasing a rabbit that couldn't run. She still remembers how he had been when he had gotten that tag put into his ear. He had moped and moped and moped, sat around and felt bad about himself despite the fact that his ailment could easily be lifted by a claw swipe. Out of all of her sisters kits she finds Adderpaw the most pathetic.

She does not say so though, only rolls her eyes at him "Whatever" she says with a dismissive flick of her ears, turning her attention to the others that gathered around. A chuckle escapes her maw at Venomstrike's words. "Oh really? You think you could best me? The splash campion? I'd like to see you try!" she says and aims another splash, this time in the toms direction. Though it is clear from her effort that her heart is not in it. Her limbs are sore and tired from racing around the moors, after all. "I could use a good dip too" she admits to Scorchstreak, yellow eyes settling on that familiar calico fur for a moment too long before glancing away. Would she hate it if she offered to help groom her fur after? She wonders.

( 🐍 ) Venomstrike tilts his head listening to Adderpaw mention how the rabbits are beginning to hide within their burrows during the day and the moor runner blinks buttercup hued eyes in a moment of thought before parting his jaws to speak "I'm not surprised... It's been very h-hot lately." Maybe they'd need to start hunting when the sun is close to settling down for the night and making way for the moon, it would be a lot cooler for both cat and prey alike he thinks. He stretches out his front limbs a bit resting on his side and letting out a huff "Might be good to g-go out later to hunt them when they're out of their tunnels and burrows."

His eyes turn to Bluepool and flinches subtly when he gets splashed by her, Venomstrike shaking his head to rid himself of the droplets that fell on him and responded confidently "I c-can and will. I'll be the new splash champion," He uses a paw to send a small splash in Bluepool's direction and parts his jaws to let out a soft yawn. Admittedly, he didn't have the energy to take Bluepool's crown but he would some point that was for sure.
