The warnings still sat in his mind about not leaving the safety of the camp. But that didn’t stop him from feeling fascinated about the world beyond the bramble walls. The day he had arrived here had only given him a brief glimpse of the forest that SkyClan called home, hardly a solid mental picture. Maybe he could get a better look if he just sat close enough? Snowy ended up inching closer to the entrance itself and he leaned forward on his paws as he tried to peer at the landscape that lay outside.

He had no intention of going through it or even leaving, but to onlookers it might have looked that way. Heck, he even looked poised to bolt through it, and given how fast he had proven himself to be already it was a worrying thought. ”I wonder…”

He'd been a restless kit... maybe that was the reason he'd been run ragged as a kitten with chores. or maybe he'd been restless because he was running errands all the time. Either way, he was in no hurry to give his parents an award for ny shred of his childhood. So, he understood Snowy's little plight... restless curiosity, or just a want for something more, cramped within these walls...

Still, he wasn't willing to let the little white tom go streaking out of camp, never to be seen again- mismatched paws carried a frazzled form to the kitten's side, just in time to hear him murmur, I wonder. A thought that began, but didn't finish ... and he didn't move instantly, but Twitchbolt would rather not find out what snapping dog jaws were awaiting a little morsel of a kitten in the woods. Oh, it made him ill with the thought.

"What are you wondering, huh?" Twitchbolt asked, tilting his head and trying to get Snowy's attention with a little rap of his paw upon the ground. "Wondering how many pine-needles are on that tree?"

(Why had he said that? Stars, he hoped no one started counting...)

The kit snapped his head round as he trained his focus on Twitchbolt in a bit of a bewildered manner. After staring so intently at a far away point for so long it was a bit of a harsh change to focus on a face up close. ”Huh? Oh, I was just trying to remember what the woods looked like. So not quite counting, but… yeah.” Snowy wrinkled his pink nose as he fumbled over his own words, soon dropping his gaze as he began to feel a little self conscious in that moment. ”Will I ever get to see it? The woods that is. What’s out there anyway? All he had to go on was little odds and ends he picked up from snooping into conversations around the camp.
