Whoever.... whoever finds the most, g-g-gets to choose f-first prey when we're done, and pick a g-g-game to play" He explains - doing his best to twist it into a fun activity or game. Sure, some of them are old enough that they'd have been apprentices already were it not for the new code, but still - he remembers how easily distracted he was at their age. The least he can do is twist this little task into something fun - or at the very least, a competition.

First prey AND picks the next game? Frightkit's eyes are aglow of phantom light as she bounces on her toes. Although she would've happily done the task for free, as it means doing something other than running around aimlessly all day, she's glad for the reward. "It's like hide and seek but with the walls, huh PeriPeri? " Fry purrs, dropping onto her chest to wiggle her tail, revving up to be the winner. Once her uncle gives the go-ahead, Frightkit is off! Bounding headlong into the nursery, she shifts through the gorse to find anything out of place or too exposed. This one was easy, as she's slept too close to a spot where the breeze tickled her awake on more than one occasion. "I found a hole! " Frightkit would announce triumphantly, poking her head through it as emphasis.

But when she tries yanking her head back out, she finds that there's some resistance. After a moment of fighting with the tangle of stems and flowers, the girl would exclaim with a laugh, "the hole's got me! "

Competitions were Ferretkit's specialty. After all, she was smarter than all the other kits, and better at tracking too. Getting the girl to do any sort of chore would be a tedious task, but the 'prize' of getting to pick a game for all the other kits to play was promising. She already knew what she would play - a game of kitclan, in which she'd be the leader with Gravekit as her deputy and Grasskit her loyal medicine cat. Just like last time!

Finding holes couldn't be that hard, she decided. She already knew one that she's seen in the nursery before, and followed Frightkit with an eager fervor. When the other kitten found it first, she was dismayed - but upon seeing her stuck, her mood brightened. Ferretkit burst out into laughter at the scene in front of her, nearly falling over with the force of her giggles. "You're supposed to find them, Frightkit! Not get stuck in them!" Though her tone is light and jesting, there is an underlying sneer of mockery. That's one competitor down, she decided, as she leaves the kit stuck in the hole to embark into another den.

[ ༻ ❊ ༺ ] Lakekit was not one for competition, finding no interest in pitting himself against his own denmates or others, yet he did not mind the idea of helping Periwinklebreeze find some holes that needed to be patched up, especially if it means the safety of others. Silently the tom nodded, bi-color eyes scanning the clearing before noticing Ferretkit follow after Frightkit, and so he joined in as well.

Frightkit was stuck and all Ferretkit did was jest at the other before walking away and leaving the she-kit to her demise. "not very leader-like of you, Ferretkit" he stated a bit flatly, remembering how from their game of kitclan, how Ferretkit claimed the spot of leader, and yet here she was... leaving others in the ground just because she gets first pick, how terrible.

Gently he began to claw at the dirt hole around Frightkit in an attempt to help her wiggle freely, not giving much mind to ruining the hole to safe his own friend. "Fry, try to wiggle out" he commented towards his friend, still trying to make the hole bigger for the she-kit.
