It seemed to Crowkit they had been stuck in area for a little while now. He was a bit haunted to find out Chilledstar had "died," but the murmuring of the clan cats seemed to imply he would be...alive still? Crowkit wasn't entirely sure of the verbatim. There were still some faces missing, and he faintly hoped they were just straggling behind. The collection of cats that were here though were just sitting, waiting, pacing, or just plain shook up. He was still too, but Crowkit had known swamp creatures lurked in these parts. Just mulling around was difficult for him, and so little black paws carry him a few foxlengths from the others, but still in eyeshot.
A twitching black nose peers into a pine tree with a hollow. Crowkit smelled nothing but wood rot and so dual - colored orbs peer further in. A viscid cobweb startled him as it stuck to his nose, and he pawed his nose to be rid of it in slight annoyance. One silvery - green and one nearly black eye stare at it on muddied pawpads for a moment, and then he remembered he had overheard one day in camp that cobwebs were helpful. For what exactly he was not sure, but they were good for injured cats. He stuck his head back into the hollow of the tree, and the silken strands were found drooping, hanging, and littering most of the hole. Crowkit wasn't sure if any cats were hurt, besides Chilledstar, but maybe it could prove useful. He liked grabbing stuff anyway.
Crowkit loped back to the group of Shadowclanners, and cawed to no one in particular, "There's a bunch of spiderwebs. Should I - should we grab some?" Before anyone had the chance to reject his idea, or chastise him to stay close, he lurks back to his spot. Feathery paw set to work, raking pawfuls of the cobwebs. He carried the batch in his maw as gently as he could before moving on to another tree, and he cast a sidelong glance at the other cats, making sure he was still running - distance to them.
The ebony tomkit set the cobwebs gingerly as he started his inspection of this tree, but all he found was pine bark at the base of this one. Crowkit tilted his head up and no cobwebs greeted his eye. Instead, massive and scaling claw marks upon the bark. Swamp monsters could climb!? The kit takes not a moment to hesitate, and after hastily scooping the collected cobwebs in his maw, takes off to the rest of the Shadowclanners. The spiderwebs drop from his maw from his squawking once he's back in the midst with them. "There's HUUUGE claw marks," He exclaimed franticly, pointing in the direction with his tail, "GINORMOUS swamp monster ones. I found them looking for these!" Yeesh, maybe he shouldn't have said it like that. Hopefully it didn't freak anyone out further.
- ooc: part of the bear event! he's basically just looking for cobwebs and inviting anyone else to in case of injured cats. also spots a huge set of claw marks on a tree —
