Brookpaw hasn't known leafbare yet. She's been told plenty of stories and knows of the struggles that can come with it (she was born out of camp, after all, due to the swelling rivers afterwards.) But the falling snow and freezing river is something new entirely.
She's with a patrol, aiming to find spots of the river that are still fishable if any at all. Her shoulder bumps against Starlightpaw for a moment, her paw darting out to try and catch a straggler. It's unfortunate, however - her claws scrape on pieces of ice that've floated to shore, and due to her proximity to the tom, chilly water sprays up at them both. Brookpaw mrows a pitiful, "You almost missed that one," to the dark furred apprentice, dragging the fish away from the water's edge.
