She had been here, before... flowers bunched in her maw, shuffling to face verdant eyes, a ginger face. Shame clung to her, a coat of burrs- through snowy lashes, she watched the leader for a few moments. Her expression tried to find something resembling a smile- it was a feathery, feeble little thing, and crimson pupils wavered upon her, exhausted with grief. The blooms were not nearly as pretty as those from newleaf had been, either... they were the permafrost sort, dusky-blue, dressed with evergreen. They were flowers, nonetheless. More than ever it pained Thundergleam to recall it all- but she knew, knew, Flamestar liked flowers.
If it could not be prey... "Flamestar," she murmured, ghostly form drifting into the den. Brittle voice, it did not sound like her, not at all. She dipped her head- she watched the leader's face, her paws. There was no leap of claws.... no sting of punishment would strike her cheek, today. Oh, she would have to trust it.
How she hated this smallness- that he had cramped her into the smallest badger-den with his death, his body lying like a boulder atop of her, compressing her lungs and throat even now. "I brought these as... as an apology, for the... terrible mess I made, the other day." And she would not let tears come, not now... she merely bowed her head, placing stems on the gentle earth.
