AS HE RAISED HIS FIST BEFORE HE SPOKE — Another moment of peace. It was like a gift straight from Starclan above, a wave of relief passing over Rattleheart as he glanced around camp and saw that there was little that he needed to immediately attend to. The addition of both himself and Periwinklebreeze to Sunstar's council had - surprisingly - taken some of the weight off of his shoulders, making the tunneler feel more certain of Windclan's continued and brightening future. He no longer felt like he needed to take everything on, content to have them all split duties as needed. For now he could relax - and talk with an old friend.

Or at least, a cat that certainly seemed like he needed a friend these days.

It had been impossible for Rattleheart not to notice the altered light in Sedgepounce's eyes ever since he had returned, battered and stitched back together by twoleg paws in spite of whatever protests he may have had. Though the lead warrior hadn't been a witness to what had happened, he could admit that he'd been even more wary around Snakehiss since Sedgepounce's return. It didn't seem like the former deputy had intentionally sent him down into the merciless water, but it was hard not to glance sideways at him. To not look between him and the damage that had been inflicted on the young moor runner and cringe at just how bad it all seemed. Had Sedgepounce really gone through so much because of a simple mistake, or because of motivations far more sinister?

The truth wasn't immediately obvious - at least to Rattleheart - but one thing was, at the very least. Sedgepounce needed support, and he was willing to provide it if he could. That was why he had chosen to take his quiet moment of peace and use it to grab a midsized hare from the freshkill pile, carrying it over to where the tabby tom sat. He dropped it down at his paws, nudging it a little closer before he settled into his own seat nearby, long tail curling around himself. "Hello, Sedgepounce. Mind sharing with me?" Rattleheart paused only briefly, long enough to flash the stiff moor runner a smile. "I wanted to ask how you were doing." Hopefully it wouldn't seem like he was being too nosy, the tom well aware of how his past attitude had been focused more on staying in the background and information gathering, rather than offering a helping paw.
