Still, phrases continue to elude the warrior, staring awkwardly ahead because what else could he do when thinking that eels of all things could come raining down on him? “Flying eels?” He muttered, instead directing his attention at the sky, expression befuddled. “Eels can fly?” He uttered, tone helpless. He had overheard Nettlepaw exclaiming such, although now that he was here, thinking about everything he’d heard the others toss around without battling an eye made him believe they were just … phrases.
He still couldn’t understand StarClan, no less having dead cats watching him. Did they watch everything? Even going—Dawnstorm stamped that thought with a choked wheeze, optics widening. Did they? His maw parted in disbelief, quickly clamping it shut at the thought of a crab grabbing hold of his tongue.
Dawnstorm mumbled words, inaudible to everyone, even himself, wondering just what else he didn’t know yet that would certainly fly over his head. “Why would someone put shells in someone’s ears?” He muttered, dumbfounded. How would it even fit…? Was it some kind of punishment?
He had nearly gone after someone in fear of them having shells in their ears, having heard the phrase being tossed in Reedbite’s direction. Surely, Dawnstorm didn’t know the other, eyes wider than full moons. Wouldn’t that be painful? Only to realize that it was similar to when he had looked for any sticks up his father’s ass, proclaiming that it would have hurt if they had been there. It hadn’t. Admittedly, there had been some disappointment, but he didn’t dare dwell on the thought. So, of course, Dawnstorm had stumbled back in apology, glancing at Reedbite nervously, and now here he was, sitting.
Why couldn’t they say everything directly? The bi-colored tom could feel an oncoming headache, nearly drawing a confused huff from him if he hadn’t swallowed the sound with a grimace. “You all are weird.” He bluntly stated, expression pinched.
