She didn't like it. Moonshadow would watch the new rogues that Sootstar had brought in with an unreadable expression. Eyes of dark glittering sapphire would move slowly over each and every form as if she could see into their very souls and be making her opinions of them. No, she didn't like this at all. But still, what could she possibly do? Moonshadow had come to the realization that she had traded one tyrant for another when she left her home, and as her gaze now shifted towards the form of her children, she couldn't help the guilt that washed over her.

She had wanted better for them. Not the cold and hard world that Sootstar was creating around them. Moonshadow wondered for not the first time what the other clans were like if life in any of the others would have been better, happier. But she shows no outward signs of her traitorous thoughts. The black smoke would rise to her paws to stretch, giving her chest a quick lick before moving to check the state of the fresh-kill pile, perhaps she could make herself useful and go hunting, take one of the rogues along and see just how they fare on the moorlands.

HELLO, MY NAME IS MR FEAR

It feels nice to have a full belly again, and even nicer now that he doesn't have to fight off coyotes for every scrap of food. Nathanos has found himself a ray of sunlight, and it's there that he sits, grooming his dusty hued fur with a barbed tongue. He had already caught a few rabbits, though he's yet to chase one down by himself. That would take a lot of practice, he's sure. Nathanos had always been more talented in battle than in a hunt, but he'd get the hang of it eventually.

One eye of fire flickers toward a she-cat that examines the fresh-kill pile. He doesn't know her name, has yet to speak with her, but by the looks of things, she's about to head out for a hunt. Or she was just being very picky about what she wanted to eat from that pile. Regardless, Nathanos carries on with what he's doing, drawing a paw over his ears as he continues to groom.

♚ For all of the anger and bitterness Moonshadow might have for her right now, Hyacinthbreath would let her feel it in full. While she had found out just what she wanted, how she truly felt, Moonshadow was her best friend and is now the mother of her kits. While they weren't mates, they were bound to each other by the fates above through the blood their children shared. The idea of Moon having to be stuck here, in a place so similar to her birthplace. The very place she had escaped from for her safety, right into another corrupt kingdom.

Hyacinth didn't trust the Rogues. Not one bit. They were sniveling fools, looking to betray WindClan the moment it doesn't do them any good. She steps close to the fresh-kill pile, dropping a scrawny looking rabbit onto the pile with a grimace. With leaf-bare here, food was beginning to be hard to find above-ground. She was lucky the rabbits escaped to the tunnels, a place where she basically slept at this point.

Cold, judging eyes stare at Nathanos from a distance; leveling with his single gold hue in a silent warning. Then, her gaze turns back to Moonshadow with concern evident. "Are you alright?" She asks the molly softly, already expecting to be either snapped at or ignored. Perhaps Moonshadow was still not alright with her. "Listen, even if.. We're not together- I still care about you. Your wellbeing. Our kits. Just.. If you need something, anything- just.. Ask. I'll do what I can for you." She meows low enough for the molly to hear, the sight of some apprentices walking over making her lift her head up.

"What's got you all looking so tired? They train that hard out there?" She chuckles softly in amusement.

She follows the apprentices with a bounce in her step, a scrawny little fledgling held in her mouth. She doesn't know why they were going to them but she was excited to show off her catch to Hyacinth because she had found it hard to start hunting (often than not coming back empty pawed). She bounces past them, stops besides Hyacinth and drops her catch with a puff of her chest, pride in her eyes. "Look at what I did!" she cheers, though it'd be her little secret that the birds wing had been broken (or at least she thinks so).

Then her eyes fall upon miss Moonshadow, she was her mentors friend (she thinks at least) and so she shoots her a large smile. Mother of Aspen, at least, a friend! "Hi Miss Moon! Are you hungry? Do you want a bird?" she picks her catch up after leaving it long enough to examine, pushing it towards the shadow herself. "I caught it juuuust for you~" she lies in a sing-song voice, a small giggle leaving her mouth. Granted she hadn't caught it for anyone, so truly it COULD be for someone now. It had practically fallen right in to her paws after all.

She would notice the maimed tom grooming himself beside the fresh-kill pile, and while he would say nothing to her, Moonshadow would give him a simple nod in greeting; even if she didn't trust them she could still be polite so as not to give them a reason to dislike her. A familiar scent would wash over her then, and she would take a deep breath for a moment before turning to face Hyacinthbreath.

The pang in her chest that usually came whenever the silver lynx was around was stronger than ever, likely due to how lonely the stoic warrior had been as of late. But she needed to stay strong, the last time she had allowed her loneliness to lead her actions, she had fallen pregnant. The warriors' words surprised her and she would slowly blink at Hyacinthbreath before meowing just as gently, "Hyacinthbreath, I-"

She was cut off as a horde of apprentices stole the molly's attention away and Moonshadow would sigh almost silently before turning to face them. Her expression changes immediately when she spots her children, the stoic and cold look melting as ice in the sunlight into love and adoration. When had they gotten so big? Spiritpaw approaches her with a bird, freshly caught, and the black smoke can't help the quiet purr that rises from her chest, "Oh, just for me you say?" Bending her head down as if to inspect the catch, Moonshadow would give a rare ghost of a smile, "This may be the best sparrow I've seen in a while. Very well done, Spiritpaw."

Straightening back up, Moonshadow would continue, "I was thinking of going hunting myself. If any of you would like to join me." Her gaze flickered to both Hyacunthbreath and Nathanos, a silent extension of an invitation to them as well.

HELLO, MY NAME IS MR FEAR

Nathanos doesn't know much about this... Hyacinthbreath, but her judgemental warning glare would go ignored. He doesn't care about whatever she might be feeling, the brute was here to stay. He and his fellow rogues had Sootstar's blessing to remain here as WindClan cats, after all. Warriors could complain all they wanted, but it would do nothing to earn them favor among their new clan-mates. Then, there's the apprentices. They were energetic and eager to learn, it seemed. Nathanos remembers his own youth, though it was spent with far less happiness than what he observes now. One of the trainees, Spiritpaw, seems all too eager to share her scrawny catch with Moonshadow. Nathanos doesn't judge, after all, it was foolish to be picky over such things.

"I can hunt." The dusty tabby eventually speaks when Moonshadow expresses her desire to prowl the moors for prey. He was starting to get a bit chilled, and it would be nice to get some exercise in. Besides, he had groomed for long enough, and a warm belly was far more pleasing than a well kept coat of fur.

( ) "Did you catch that yourself? Nice job!" Aspenpaw exclaims, attention directed to the bird clutched in Spiritpaw's jaws. She's following along beside her friend, more than content to be spending even a few minutes with so many of the other apprentices when they weren't training or hunting or doing chores. The apprentice has only just come back from a border patrol, and for once Weaselclaw hadn't left her with much instruction for the rest of the day, only to try and make herself useful, and so she had planned to check around camp for any chores that needed doing. Before she could find something to do, however, she had noticed some of the other apprentices gathering around, and Aspenpaw hadn't wanted to miss the opportunity to see what everyone had been up to lately. It seems so infrequent that they all have this time to spare at the same time and she doesn't want to waste it; chores can wait a little longer, she thinks, since there's not anything in particular that's pressing to be done. Maybe she'd even luck out and someone else would be getting ready to help out around camp, too.

As she notices just where they're heading, Aspenpaw's step becomes even lighter. While she's still uncertain about Hyacinthbreath, unable to trust her completely, despite her best judgement she still likes the senior warrior, wants to love her, and she's still a welcome sight. And, of course, Aspenpaw is always happy to see Moonshadow, a happy purr already rising up within her. Hyacinthbreath poses a question to them, and she's quick to provide an answer - "I've been out on a border patrol with Weaselclaw." Of course, she's also been up early in the mornings practicing the battle moves her mentor had recently shown her, which is more likely the reason that he's been more tired lately. She watches as Spiritpaw presents the bird to Moonshadow, and as her mother compliments the catch she feels a bit of pride well up in her for her friend - after all, even if it is a bit scrawny, it's still impressive to her, considering she hasn't managed to catch anything yet. As Moonshadow extends an invitation to hunt, Aspenpaw perks up; sure, she hasn't had her first catch yet, but maybe today could be the day it happens. "Can I come? I don't have anything else I need to be doing," she inquires. Surely going on a hunting patrol would count for making herself useful, especially if she actually manages to bring back some prey.

I'VE BEEN RUNNIN THROUGH THIS STRANGE LIFE,
CHASIN' ALL THEM GREEN LIGHTS
THROWING OUT THE SHADE FOR A LITTLE BIT OF SUNSHINE

It was a fairly simple task to catch Dustpaws attention, and so many apprenticed lumped into one area was bound to do the trick. Catching sight of Aspenpaw and Spiritpaw among them, the large spotted apprentice would make his way over to join them just in time to hear talk of a hunt. "If Aspenpaw and Spiritpaw are going, I want to come to! Pleeeease" he announced as he came to stand beside the two shecats apprentices, fixing Moon and Hyacinth with his widest and certainly most charming grin.
