FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT || Sparring session

Yes. YES.

Assigned to hold a sparring session! Who better to ask than she, who lived for the thrill of battle! Of victory! She grinned at the cats around her and Wolfwind. Yes. They would make sure they were all in TIP TOP SHAPE.

She wasn't a fan of the sandy hollow, she knew how it felt to get sand in your eyes. Horrible. Whoever was responsible for sand should suffer. But this was the training area, and so it was something she would just have to deal with.

"ALRIGHT EVERYBODY, YOU READY TO KICK ASS?" She shouted.

"PICK A PARTNER! AND REMEMBER, NO CLAWS! THE GOAL OF THIS SESSION IS TO FIND YOUR OPPONENTS WEAKNESSES AND FLAWS, AND TO HELP EACH OTHER OVERCOME THEM!"

They were stronger together. If they helped each other with what they struggled with, it would bring them closer and improve their skills as well.

IT WENT FROM A SPARK TO AN OPEN FLAME ⋆⁺₊⋆ In Emberstar's mind, a little sparring session was the perfect way to keep warm in the cold of leafbare. Though it was generally considered training, she had always enjoyed sparring. It was fun as well as practical.

Besides, with the recent skirmishes due to the shortage of prey, it would be good for everyone to get some practice in. As much as she hoped for a peaceful leafbare, they all needed to be ready in case anything else happened.

"If anyone still needs a partner, I can pair up with them." The leader offered with a bright smile, glancing about.

"LITTLE HELLIONS, KIDS FEELIN' REBELLIOUS"

Oh, it was Badgerstrike. Wildpaw found himself grinning like a devil as he made his way over. Dare he say it but he actually liked her, mainly because he knew that she could fight. Their first encounter had left quite the impact on him after all. The apprentice sidled up to the group and he looked at who was on offer. So far there weren't any other apprentices. Well, no matter then, he'd just take on a warrior... or leader instead. The youth locked his sights on Emberstar and he strode up to her with his chest puffed out. "You can be my partner. And if I beat you I want to be leader for a day too!" Wildpaw couldn't help but pitch his wild demands, though he hoped that it would maybe drive the she-cat into giving it all her during the training session.

IT WENT FROM A SPARK TO AN OPEN FLAME ⋆⁺₊⋆ Emberstar met the apprentice's demands with a giggle. She didn't mean to be condescending, but the idea that he might beat her was just funny. He was tiny!

That said, she wasn't against the two of them pairing up, quite the opposite. Wildpaw had been a bit of trouble at times, but at least she couldn't say he wasn't motivated. If all that energy could be pointed in a more productive direction she could see him becoming a great warrior. When she was young, nothing had given her more motivation when she was young than seeing the gap between her skill and her mother's when they had sparred.

Which was why she had no intention of going easy on him.

"Sure." Emberstar agreed with a easy grin. Taking a few steps back, she settled into a relaxed combat stance. She nodded toward the apprentice across from her. "Show me what you got."

"LITTLE HELLIONS, KIDS FEELIN' REBELLIOUS"

"Hell yes! Get ready to lose!" Wildpaw was pumped now, the flame of his inner spirit blazing fierce in his eyes. He didn't waste time as he got straight down to business by aiming to swipe sand and grit at Emberstar's face in the hopes of blinding her before launching himself into the air with a powerful leap, intending to land heavily down upon her back. He wanted to prove that he was capable of holding his own, even against older cats. He'd outshine all the other apprentices, he just had to!

He does not envy Wildpaw, not even in the slightest. The young black tom knows exactly how sharp his mentors claws can be and he is relieved that he doesn’t have to go toe to toe with her. Taking someone else in a fight would probably be easy compared to the training the flame point did! Hah! He can see it now. He feels in his aching joints that he is growing, knows it by the way the world transforms around him. Had the ground always been that far? No, he’s certain it hasn’t.

For now he is content to sit back on his tired muscles and relax, to watch. You could learn a lot by watching, he knew that already. If someone were to challenge him though, he would not decline. Anything to get better. Anything to prevent another death if he could help it.
