Her paws grapple with the water a bit, but she keeps the kit someone dry as they cross to camp. Shuffling she pushes up onto land and flicks her tail. Each leg kicking water off as she enters into camp. With care she sets the kit down and inspects him, amber orbs narrowing slightly before she decides to speak. "Everything okay?" Hopefully the ride over was okay and then she turns her head hoping to catch someone with authority. Her tail shivers in her sudden nervousness before she steps forward as she sees the deputy. "Hazecloud, we found a kit. He almost went into the river. I think...I think, no, no, I know. His mother left him there to die." Her tone is clipped as she flattens her ears. Voice having leveled down to a hissing whisper toward the other. Shaking her head a little she then glances to the young one for a moment before sighing.

"He has no name. I didn't think it right to leave him out in the cold alone. Also Moonbeam might want to take a look at him. His eyes are...well, you'll see." The sun kissed warrior turns then and beckons the older warrior over to the small kitten and Midnight lowers herself to speak to him. "This is Hazecloud, our deputy. She is super nice and she will help you."

He hung from the scruff, a familiar feeling, but the only closeness besides when he forcefully layed atop of them at night, he had ever felt to his mother at least. He realizes, as he hung there, a frosty breath escaping his muzzle, that they had intended this, hadn't they? Or his... Death. He couldn't be certain, he was still young. He was still naive. He wanted to believe that their talk and their words were of a different visage and he had simply misunderstood it all.

But how could he when he didnt hang from his mother's jaws, but an unfamiliar molly now. And it wasn't fair. It wasn't fair. Life isn't fair, child.

"I'm fine." He murmurs, kneading white toes into the frozen ground. It was a lie, which those were told to be bad- and they didn't lie. But he was angry, and that was hidden behind a visage of neutrality. He couldn't be angry with them. It was not their fault.

His flicks his ears, jaws opening to try to trace where the other went unsuccessfully. His head seems to frantically search, ears craning and tilting around. But she came back, and a breath escaped the black smoky tom. His paw guides him, wavering and unbalanced, as he took some steps towards Midnightash's voice. His head looks towards midnightash, however, Hazecloud not yet speaking to know where she is. "Hello.. Hazecloud..." He murmurs.
