He had been begrudgingly thinking about Tigerkit a lot, the pair aren't exactly the most social together. Both seeming to grapple with their own issues in regards to opening up around others. Thrashpaw had been certain that he wouldn't find himself in the company of others other than kin. Despite the ultimate goal of fitting in he struggled with speaking, both to his elders and peers. Maybe it found friendship with Tigerkit easier because she's relatively quiet? It's never uneasy, she's pleasantly surprised that things could be this comfortable around someone who wasn't considered a sibling.
The apprentices den is loud, it hurts her ears to be there for too long outside of sleeping. Granted the nursery is equally as loud, filled with kits screaming even if they can talk perfectly fine. Despite it's reservations of the forest he thought it was nice because it's quiet, maybe when Tigerkit becomes an apprentice she would also enjoy it? He can't really go there with her right now since she's a kit and stuff but maybe he could bring the forest to her.
They strayed a little from Antlerbreeze on a patrol, slowly growing more comfortable in a cursed ridden land. The smoke had been fortunate enough to find the last remembers of oak leaves that had fallen from the trees, they're rather brittle but the bottom of it had been semi preserved in amber. It was peculiar but he thought maybe she would like it. Not understanding that he can just start a conversation without having a purpose he marched back to camp delicately cradling the leaf in tow.
"Tigerkit" he calls in a grumble, a trace of softness around usual hard edges. Fear gripped her, forcing it to tamper the usual wild jagged aspects of her tone. This is her only friend, they surprisingly really didn't want to mess it up. "I… Found this… For.. You" there is hesitance in It's normal slow speech, forcing a tremor to still as it shows the amber encased leaf to her. "You're… Going to… be Tigerpaw soon, so… I thought it would be… a nice gift" There is a higher pitch in his tone as he presents it, embarrassment running up their spine like a chill.
