-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- The day had slowly faded into the inky blackness of the night. Those who had come to see who the newcomer was had left shortly as they came and Flora even went back to her home too. All that stood in the forest was young Blue. Blue was staring at the darkening trunks of oaks, the whispering leaves of the maples and the ever swaying birches. It had grown quiet with only the soft sounds of cicadas in the distance and the occasional hoot of an owl. The young cats’ blue gaze was blank as he was lost in his own world as he sat there, watching the forest go by and wondered if he too should head in before too late. He didnt want to upset his parents of course.
Still, Blue moved to settle down to lay on the cool grass and tuck his paws under himself. This was absolutely insane. Did it really just happen? They had asked him his name, why he was there and what he had been willing to give up for the clan. Sure his life was fine the way it had been. He never went hungry or cold or got hurt unless he did something really dumb to hurt himself. Blue though felt like his life had had no purpose. There was no reason to wake up every day and do something.
Now he felt like a piece of his heart was put into place and now there felt like a reason for him to open his eyes every day. For Skyclan. For this new place that he hoped would become a second home to him. Blue gave a soft, breathy sigh and then went to stand up to pad a little further into the trees. Wondering what else could be out here.
A familiar scent tingled her nose as she moved towards it, her head tilting as she noticed Blue coming in her direction. She didn't get to talk to him much today as he was introduced to the clan and had everyone around him, which made her annoyed for some reason. "Finally making time to see me?" She would inquire, her voice a tease to cover the pout she wanted to do. "How was your first day?" Jaypaw would ask after, a tilt of her head as she moved forward and attempted to touch him with her salmon toned nose.
The night was falling and he would soon leave, which means she would have to wait until tomorrow to see him. Her nose scrunches for a moment as she makes a 'tsk' nose. "Are you leaving already? I want to watch the stars with you." She would murmur as she glanced at the darkening sky, and as her paws shuffled in a sweaty nervous manner. Did she look desperate or stupid? She wasn't sure, she just really liked spending time with Blue and wanted his attention on her even if for a moment. Her forest green gaze stares at him in a pleading manner, blinking her eyelashes at him similar to doing a 'pretty please' face at him. OOC
-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- Pawsteps echoed through the trees and it made him turn around from where he had been wondering. Blue brightened at the sight of grey fur in the shrouded moonlight, and he gave a little snicker at her comment. Making time indeed- it had been a wild one today. He didnt think he’d ever get a chance to think about anything let alone talk to his friends in the clan, “I can always make time for you, silly,”
“It was crazy! There’s so much out here! So much i dont know!” Blue rambled with excitement and awe as he recalled the day, “Theres so many of you in Skyclan too! It’s crazy” He shook his head as if he couldnt rightly wrap his head around the notion of so many cats and what they all did out there every day. Blue notice her lean in to touch him with her nose and he welcomed it by leaning into it with a light smile, and he bounced on his paws with this new found rush of jitters.
Blue looked down at her as she questioned if he was leaving for the night, to which he didnt know if he should head home or not. There was so much he felt like he needed to do but so little time in the day to do it. The young tomcat gave a little smile- watch the stars? Then his blue gaze flicked up and he didnt realize how well one could see the stars out here. Back in his garden they were too clouded from light of the city to be visible. Yet he could feel himself caving as Jaypaw batted her pretty green eyes at him, and he sagged his shoulders in a playfully dramatic way.
“I can definitely watch the stars with you, I’ve never seen them so clearly before” Blue agreed and commented at the same time. He felt like he needed to fill the air with something, some sort of sound as silence felt deafening. That or his own heart was clouding his ability to hear correctly- whichever it was, “Oh! How about we climb this tree and really get up there to see them?” He bounced over to the nearest oak tree and looked up its trunk with round eyes.
Tufted ears flick as she watches his facial expressions shift slightly: his blue eyes widening and a soft snicker that make her ears tickle. I can always make time for you, silly. A wide smile dances on her lips and soon the tom-cat talks about his first day in Skyclan and he rambles on for a moment. Blue wasn't like most of the kittypets that she knew (unless this was some universal after conversation they all had with their friends). He easily leans into her nose touch as she gives him a teasingly lick to the cheek with a smug smile after he accepts her question to watch the stars with her.
" Are you sure? I don't want your twoleg to keep you inside like last time. " Jaypaw murmurs as she remembers the last incident when his 'mom' kept him inside their nest because she was worried after he'd been missing. It doesn't take long until the other blue tabby finds himself at the trunk of an oak tree, staring up and inquires climbing the tree so they could watch the stars better. " Mm, that's a good idea. Let's climb it then. " The apprentice states with a meow as she joins the other cat by the tree trunk, stretching for a moment before allowing her claws to dig into the base of the tree and scale up to a low branch.
She didn't want to climb too high, just in case Blue struggled with climbing and if he fell then it wouldn't be a high fall (but she would do her best to catch him if he almost does fall). After the tom-cat joins her on the branch, Jaypaw's green gaze drifts to the silverpelt above and she watches in silence for a moment. " They say that every star up there is a cat that once lived, and every time you die- you join the silverpelt. " She murmurs softly and she wonders for a moment if her family is up there before she glances at Blue and offers him a gentle smile.
-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- Right- his mother. She was becoming increasingly fearful for Blue and he didnt understand why. He always came back didnt he! He always made sure to be home to wrap around her chest and sleep on her like she liked every night. He never missed a night and just because he was a little late didnt mean anything! Blue was just sure his mother was too protective of him for her own good, and he was sure it would be fine, “I’m sure it’ll be okay! She just tends to worry” He assured Jaypaw as he didnt quite want to go home anyway. He liked being out here in the forest, he liked sitting around and listening to the chirps of bugs and the chatter of squirrels. It was like noting he’d ever been around before.
Though as he stood by the tree, Jaypaw agreed with his notion of climbing to get to see the stars. He looked up for a moment at the tree before she was then suddenly climbing up the dark oak trunk. Blue watched with round eyes at how effortlessly it looked like. He only ever climbed his cat tree before and the fence leading out into the forest of course, nothing like this though. He wasnt sure how to even begin to climb up the tree and he paced at the bottom of it for a little bit.
The white and blue tabby then took his leap of faith and went to try to sink his claws into the tree. He pulled himself up a little bit and realized how much physical activity this was. He was really out of shape wasnt he? Blue wasnt sure or it was just he wasnt use to climbing like his before. Regardless, Blue continued up the tree until he could get onto the same branch as Jaypaw. He swallowed thickly and breathed heavily, and then sagged his shoulders slightly. That was enough to not want to run for the next four days! Blue shook out his coat and balanced a bit wobbly on the branch, too stubborn to give up, and then settled beside Jaypaw.
The marbled she-cat then looked to the stars and he followed her gaze upwards. Blue gave a soft gasp as the stars twinkled with a silvery light and there was thousands of them up there. What was up there anyway? Was it anything cool? Though as he thought about it Jaypaw spoke up about how some say that the stars are all cats who once lived. That when they die they go to silverpelt and he titled his head a bit- Silverpelt? Was that what they called the night sky? He didnt think it was good to ask and he responded with, “Thats a lot of cats up there- do you think they watch over us?” He didnt turn to look at her and merely voice the question into the air than directly to her.
Jaypaw watches as he struggles and chuckles softly as he finally finds his way beside her on the lower branch, before he found himself at balance and begun to watch the stars with her. Her green gaze shifts back to the stars with her tail partly curling around her paws, and the rest of it dangling off the branch as she ponders on his indirect question. Do you think they watch over us? Well, that's what everyone said but the disappear during the day. Did they only watch over them during the night, or did they just watch over them using their strange powers?
" That's what everyone says. " Jaypaw would state without glancing at the tom-cat as she blinks at a constellation, tilting her head slightly. Was it making a shape? " Apparently they only really talk to the medicine cats and the leaders, they granted Orangestar nine lives. " The marbled blue tabby would respond as she glances at the darker blue tabby, laying her head gently on his shoulder as she watched the stars. Jay's never bothered to watch the stars before and it was more of an excuse for Blue to spend more time with her, but she supposes it was nice.
" They make weird shapes sometimes. " She coos softly as she points to a constellation glimmering in form amongst the dark sky, her face scrunching as she tries to make out the shape of it.
