The perfect time to relax! It seemed everything was calming down and finally slowing down a little bit. While, yes, getting materials and prey and such was important, Lambleap believed in the importance of taking a rest. After all, if he burnt himself out, he wouldn't be able to help at all!

He shook off the remaining stiffness from his body and headed towards the freshkill pile. A yawn escaped his parted jaws, and the cream tabby sat in front of it. When he finally lowered his face to get something from it, he got a rather... unexpected surprise instead. A couple apprentices, or something, rushed by it and in their recklessness, caused a face to slap Lambleap in the face. He could not see past the thing's scales, and for some reason, it got stuck on his face. No matter how he turned, he couldn't get it off. Was it because it was still wet? He didn't know, and began to growl in frustration at it. He turned his head to where he believed there may be people. "Hey, ah, do one of y'all mind helping me? Please?" This poor guy sounded utterly defeated, he could see the jokes already, like his name becoming "Fishface".

-ˋˏ ༻✧༺ ˎˊ- "i think it suits you," carawaysong hums in amusement, lifting her paw to remove the fish from lambleap despite her teasing. she didn't really understand how it had happened, how did one get caught with a fish stuck across their eyes? somehow, lambleap had made a pitiful display of turning the impossible into reality.

"how'd you manage that one?" the warrior muses, extending a black paw to push the fish back towards its rightful owner. with how the pile looked, they could use a paw that stuck to a paw like a thorn. she thinks of warriors traipsing into camp, fish clinging to their fur until they were more scale than cat, a small grin curving her lips."i'm serious, if every fish in the river stuck like that we'd all be nice and fat through leafbare!"

"Maybe it froze..?" Merlinpaw suggests as they pass by, momentarily baffled by the scene that had just played out. Seriously, how'd a fish manage to get lodged over Lambleap's eyes like that? Merlinpaw was less inclined to believe that it was just the fault of those apprentices that rushed by and more likely to be the warrior's own poor luck...

The cream tabby huffed. Though, he had to admit, it was slightly amusing that he had this fish that managed to get stuck to his face. Thankfully, with a little help, it was gone and he could see clear as day again! He offered a look of thanks to Carawaysong, before answering her question with a rather defeated sigh. "I uh, was trying to get something to eat, and it... kinda flopped onto my face when other cats ran by."

He glanced back upon hearing Merlinpaw, blinking. That was actually a good suggestion. It could have frozen to the upper part of his nose or something. "I can see that! But hey, Carawaysong saved the day, and now the really fat fish is available to be eaten."

Sunpaw is trying. So hard, not to laugh. But even she can't help her snicker at the sight of a fish across Lambleap's face when they call out for help. It's beyond her to actually attach a name to Lambleap for something like that - it could happen to any of them, Lambleap just happened to be unlucky- but since Lambleap seems to be unharmed, she finally breaks into a little giggle.

"You must be a real Riverclanner if a fish thinks that you're water," she laughs. It's also mildly to cover her own fur for giggling in the first place. "Maybe it's scales got stuck in your fur or something. You should try that again, Lambleap!" It's doubtful it'll ever happen again, much less again in the course of Lambleap's life, but maybe they're onto something, like Carawaysong suggested. They'd be eating well all through leafbare if they could manage that. She can't help but laugh again as she turns back to the water too. "
