Since the kid became a warrior, Duskpool hadn’t gotten the chance to check in on Drowsynose. Even if the other wasn’t his apprentice didn’t mean he wouldn’t stop checkin’ in. He doubted he’d ever stop. A rumbled chuckle escaped the deadpan warrior, shakin’ out his wooly pelt, hopin’ to combat the creepin’ heat that made him want to go hairless more than once.

A tired grunt escaped a scarred maw, settlin’ beside the younger warrior with an offerin’ of prey between the former mentor-apprentice pair. “Hey kiddo.” His timbre was a low, guttural sound, mangled ear swivelin’ against a scarred helm. “Been meanin’ to check in, so how’ve ya been, squirt?” He jumped head first into why, then later on.

The pessimistic side of him realized this might be the last chance he’ll get to talk to his former apprentice and with that, Duskpool ain’t one to ignore a chance to see how the kid was doin’ with an offerin’ of vole from the fresh kill pile. Yer gettin’ sentimental old man. His thoughts echoed deadpan, nearly bringin’ a mirthful chuff from the warrior, instead savin’ himself by swallowin’ a small bite of vole, wooly plumage twitchin’. “Afraid I ain’t have much to share on my end.” He rumbled, deadpan, molten hues crinklin’ around the edges.
