camp HALL OF DOORS シ ASKING OUT

Tigerpaw's an apprentice now... That mean's she's in the same den as Thrashpaw now. She liked Thrashpaw, and now that she thinks about it, lots of cats liked each other, more than just typical friends would... And Tigerpaw's pretty sure that Thrashpaw is more than just a typical friend. He like, brought her things, and Tigerpaw really liked that Thrashpaw brought her things. Though... she's pretty sure she'd like if anyone brought her things, but of course, Thrashpaw's the only one who's done it...

She's always admired relationships like that. They were... they were the backbone of the clan. Cats like Lovelight and Lightflower. Cats like Nightbird and Raccoonstripe... They were always with each other, and it was really super sweet, and you'd know they'd always be behind each other no matter what... They'd always listen to each other and loveeach other... Tigerpaw's always thought it would be nice to have a cat like that.

Her tail sways thoughtfully behind her as she approaches the apprentice's den. She didn't really feel like she belonged there... but this would probably fix it, she's prety sure " Thrashpaw? " She looks hopefully toward the den's entrance, hoping for a familiar scruffy coat to appear. " I'm an apprentice now... Did you see? Did you look for me? " It's not really why she's here, but she suddenly wants to ask. Her ears flicker atop her head, bobbing in an uneven rhythm. She shouldn't get distracted... " Um, anyways, I've been thinking... I... "

She pauses, then clearsher throat, shuffling mitted paws in the ground... Everyone should know about this, shouldn't they? She tries again, making an attempt to speak more confidently. She's better at it than she thought she would be, actually... " I like you, " she says straightforwardly. " Um, when we're warriors... would you wanna be my mate? " Wide eyes blink hopefully toward them.

OOC: Takes place the same day as the meeting! Propositioning @THRASHPAW but no need to wait! <3

Stormywing is sitting nearby, observing the bustle of the camp while lazily grooming her fur. Casual chatter falls from her jaws to reach the ears of Thundergleam, but she pauses suddenly. The clear, chilly air carries voices easily, you see, and though she hadn't meant to eavesdrop, Tigerpaw's unmistakably bold declaration catches her attention. Her ears perk up, and she pauses mid-lick, her sharp golden eyes narrowing toward the apprentice's den.

Did she just…?

The tabby bites back a grin, half-amused, half-impressed. It isn't every day that a new apprentice marches up to someone and lays their feelings out like that. She can't help but admire the guts it took - though she doubts Tigerpaw had thought about the potential awkwardness if Thrashpaw doesn't feel the same. She leans in closer to Thundergleam, eyes not leaving the den. "Uh oh…your apprentice is up to something," She chitters humorously. "Bold move." Don't get her wrong, it's sweet! But…man, the second-hand embarrassment is getting a little overwhelming.

leafbare is a boring season, but leafhusk can always count on the younger generation to give the day something fun. it is perfectly fine to use this as her entertainment for the day. the molly's former owner loved to watch other twolegs on her television. her ears twitch curiously, her head lifting to watch tigerpaw confess her love for thrashpaw. it was cute, she supposes, though the possible outcome has this section of the camp on it's toes. thunderclan's local wolf triplets are a pawful, their behavior still erratic into their apprenticeship. hopefully this won't turn out too poorly.

"ah… no one stop this, i wanna see what happens." there's an amusing lilt to her quiet voice. her gaze sweeps to anyone beside her, a playful grin dances across her muzzle.

it seemed the apprentice's den had grown a magnetized pull towards every able bodied warrior. leafhusk and stormywing watched as if it were full of mice for starclan's sake. nightbird is not immune to the draw that has captured everyone else, stopping besides leafhusk with a twitch of her tail.

"stop what?" she mutters, glancing around the auburn molly's shoulder to catch a glimpse. it couldn't be something dangerous, a fight or some other squabble taken a step too far. she'd hear the fallout by now, and hopefully one of the warriors would have stepped in instead of rubbernecking at the mouth of the den. but she doesn't see flying fur or flashing teeth, just the widened hopeful gaze of her daughter.

it didn't matter what childish question tigerpaw's eyes held - if she had asked thrashpaw in earnest to move the sun and stars - she was an apprentice now and would learn to deal with the repercussions. it didn't have to be made into a spectacle for leafhusk, stormywing, thundergleam, and any other warrior with too much time on their paws. especially if her daughter was moments away from some sort of rejection. "come on, leave em alone." nightbird sighs, a small hint of amusement on her tone. the warrior gently bumps leafhusk's shoulder with her own, an attempt to corral her council-mate away from the scene. ───‎ ⋆☽

Why anyone would seek out Thrashpaw eludes him, despite having a moon to acclimate to the new climate around him they still find their pelt prickling around any new body near them. Which unfortunately for such an antisocial cat is nearly every apprentice gathered in the den, she refuses to think that she's the problem so she decides to think maybe it's her nest. Pawing and clawing at the moss gathered in an attempt to reshape it into something that might not make his pelt bristle like it was made of burrs. The voice behind him causes the body to still, bristling at first thinking it's yet another stranger wanting to talk to him for some ridiculous reason. Maws part in a snarl with his back turned before the brain catches up to the actions, the voice isn't unfamiliar at all it's Tigerki-Tigerpaw! It's frightening at the speed of which he turns on paws, tufted bordering floppy ears perk up in rapt attention. "I did see you" he remarks quietly, keenly aware of the eyes on them from the warriors nearby. Did they think he was going to do something bad? Tigerpaw is his friend so why would he do that? His voice didn't join the shouts of celebration amongst his clanmates but he made sure to be there when he noticed that Tigerpaw and her siblings had been painstakingly groomed and ready for what he assumed was a graduation to apprenticehood.

"Did you... Want to put... your nest here?" He interrupts her as she starts to trail off in her sentence. They had enough space near him to offer it up to another, that's what she assumes this is for. Tigerpaw must be trying to find somewhere to sleep unless she had plans to rest next to her siblings? This was a stupid idea he can't believe he's dumb enough to make such a blunder like this. She clears her throat and paws are shuffled, he was too forward wasn't he? Normal cats wouldn't make a mistake like this, only feral cats with no concept on how a conversation should work would mess up like this.

"I like you"

The words roar at him like a monster on the Thunderpath. He thinks about how silly that is because she didn't need to say it! They like her too, was that something that had to be said? Then she clarifies what kind of like this just is, the kind that the adults have. There's an offer, rather a request. Hope is in her eyes and she finds that there is no disgust at the concept, he doesn't understand mates. He sees them around the camp, knows what they should be doing. Knows that it's normal... Huh, mates trust each other, right? That means Tigerpaw trusts him?

The concept of it is raw, unknown but hungered for regardless of the unforseen path. "I... Like you too..." She croaks, unsure of how to really word things like this. Not with an audience... He just tries to focus on the hopeful eyes of their friend? Their future mate? He isn't sure what Tigerpaw is supposed to be called now. "Okay... I would like that..." He nods, widened honeyed eyes relaxing back to their normal state. Gleaming with hope themself, he gestures to the open spot next to their nest. "Um... Does that... Do you... Putting your nest next... To mine? Yes?" She finds herself floundering, yet it's not as frightening this time.

Raccoonstripe almost misses the idle gossip of his Clanmates, almost misses the way a mismatched gaze hangs hopefully on midnight fur. He sits a few foxlengths from the other warriors, but once he hears Nightbird's chiding voice, his dark eye sweeps across the clearing. Tigerpaw has just padded toward Thrashpaw, and the tabby's whiskers twitch. She has something to say; it's clear from the way she presents herself. The young she-cat clears her throat and raises her voice: "I like you. Um, when we're warriors... would you wanna be my mate?"

His jaw almost drops. Whatever he'd been expecting his daughter to say, that had not been it. She's only six moons! How could she be thinking about something like this already? When he'd been her age, he'd been slick with mire mud, hunting frogs, and scaring his denmates with things he and his brothers had found in the marsh. Where in StarClan's name did she get this sort of thing from?

Still... he has to admire her boldness. It took courage to admit to her feelings like she did, right in front of StarClan and everyone. And Thrashpaw, the little feral creature she is, actually says yes. Raccoonstripe's mouth quivers into a smile, and he tries to meet Nightbird's gaze. "I hope the grandkits take after us," he jokes, trying to keep his voice low.
