private HAVE YOU EVER TRIED... // sunpaw

The blow up between Foxtail and Sunpaw had been in front of... well, everyone with how small the copse is. Splashdance cannot say for certain who she believes is right in the situation - maybe if she ever gets an apprentice of her own, she'll understand how difficult they can be. Regardless she almost doubts that the altercation had to happen at all. And if it was inevitable... maybe it should've been done apart from their temporary camp.

What's done is done, she supposes, but the young she-cat somehow cannot leave well enough alone. Sunpaw's punishment is at least not a horrible one, but Splashdance knows herself that if she had been severed from Pebbletail at even this stage of her vulnerable life... she'd feel lost and confused.

(Something whimpers in her heart, bleeds slow rivulets through her veins, and then quiets altogether.)

"Hey, Sunpaw...!" she called the apprentice's name as she trots ever closer, a fish between her teeth. "I - er... I wanted to talk with you. Nothing bad!" she's quick to assuage any fear or anger from the younger molly (though she's unsure if it'd work well,) "I just... I dunno. Figured some of us gotta stick together, y'know? I'd hate to call us... outsiders, but..." That's how it feels sometimes. Her tongue clicks as she sits down, "No worries if you're busy...!"

Embarrassed didn't even touch the way that Sunpaw felt right now. Mortified didn't either. Though honestly, a lot of what had happened in their recovering camp is a blur to her. She remembers the feelings, the outrage; but specifics... Well, she knows well enough what she's been punished with. What she does or doesn't remember doesn't matter anymore.

So she had gone about her lonely day, not speaking to Foxtail, barely even looking in his direction as much as she could help it. She carried out her duties with no great cheer in her heart nor her body, and as she hears her name called out she inadvertently tenses, all the way up to her shoulders as her ears flick in acknowledgement.

Splashdance?

Wasn't she one of the ones who had been chittering at them before everything had... Well, maybe it doesn't matter.

"'Kay," she answers when Splashdance says she wants to talk. The 'nothing bad' is nice to hear, at least. But the rest of what she says is a little confusing, and Sunpaw looks up long enough to eye the fish in her maw and to roll the question around in her head. "...Outsiders?" she repeats. Honestly, she doesn't know much about... a lot of the Clan, if she's being honest with herself. Is there something about Splashdance she should know? "What do you mean?"
