border helpful and friendly || mentor & apprentice

〕Their final stop for today, the Shadowclan border. Flamewhisker flicked her tail forward, keeping Merlinpaw from potentially walking any closer to the Thunderpath that lay in front of them. "We'll stay back here in the tree line...it's much safer." She said quietly as she rotated her ears, listening for any signs of monsters nearby. So far it seemed there wouldn't be any, but she'd rather be safe than sorry, especially since it was Merlinpaw's first time here. "This is the Thunderpath...it also marks our border with Shadowclan. We may not see one today, but monsters are often found on the Thunderpath. They rarely leave it, but they have in the past so you must be very careful." She had heard during her time in the nursery a patrol report that two monsters had gotten into a fight not too long ago here.

"Smogm- Smogstar is their leader. Starlingheart is their medicine cat, and Marblepaw is her apprentice." It still felt strange referring to him as Smogstar. Chilledstar's passing had come to a shock to her at the last gathering, but she was sure that Smogstar would be a good successor. He had been a strong leader figure on the journey, and a cat she had come to like. "Do you know what prey Shadowclan hunts?"

a longhaired red tabby with low white and green eyes. flamewhisker's fur is a vibrant hue of red, riddled with thick classic tabby markings. her fur is medium in length, and she has a large, feathery tail. her chest, belly, tail tip, and her paws are dipped white. flamewhisker's eyes are a dark, deep shade of green. her shoulder has a large scar on it from a fight with a dog. she also has a shredded ear from a disagreement with a loner during her time alone before joining thunderclan. on particularly cold days, or sometimes before a major weather change, she will walk with a slight limp from her shoulder injury.

Lizardthroat bleeds from the shadows across the way, her paws parting the sparse undergrowth with too-much grace. Wiry and shade-drenched, the warrior glowers across the thunderpath at the mentor-and-apprentice pair. Despite her narrowed gaze, her grin stretches too-wide, exposing pearly white teeth amidst the darkness that is her. It's cute, to watch a mentor tote around their new prize of a child. It was cuter when they were smaller, she's sure, but that doesn't matter now. Rules are rules, and all.

"Hell-o~" she chirps in a sing-song fashion. Her night-black paw raises to paw at the air, "I know the answer to this one, Flamewhisker! Let me answer, please, please, please!" The warrior begs, regarding the deputy of the other Clan with hardly anything more than a playful encounter.

[ ༻❄༺ ] There was some oddity to admit when coming across a newly made apprentice with their mentor showing them about the territory, after all, he too had been there once. Moving past the undergrowth he moved to stand next to Lizardthroat who decided to make a game out of Flamewhisker's question which made him snort. "If we answer that, then the little apprentice there may think we'll just tell them anything" he stated, a slight tone of teasing in the newly appointed warrior's word before looking to Flamewhisker and dipping his head in greetings to Thunderclan's deputy. "How is Thunderclan?" he asked the other group, might as well since the two were here now.

જ➶ "Is our diet a secret?" Wispy words leave their throat as they step from around a pine. Back arching against the brittle bark as they finally step forward but not so close to the thunderpath. Their gaze watches the blackened line as if it might just come to life before them. But of course the monsters appear to be the real problems that plague the thunderpath and even some of their clanmates. A humored look finally enters their gaze as they look toward the Thunderclan deputy and then their apprentice. "It's always exciting to come to the border for the first time. Intriguing to meet other clan cats. Are you learning anything?" They ask with a light tone as they settle down and allow a paw to scratch underneath their chin. For a moment they don't say anything else. Rather docile and okay with just watching the scene unfold before then.

Afterall Lizard seemed all too excited and keen on answering the question for the Thunderclanner's apprenrice

Mirepurr mirrors Flamewhisker; the both of them lead new apprentices out into the world for the first time, letting them experience all that lays outside of camp's safe borders. The ShadowClan patrol emerges and meets the pair head-on, and Mirepurr's own ears move as they listen to Flamewhisker's teachings. They are not yet aware that Smogstar has chosen a successor, and although they decide not to spill the beans here and now — such attention would not feel well-earned nor right —, they try to imagine themself beside the row of capable deputies at the Gathering soon. Will they manage to keep up with the likes of them? Mirepurr can only hope.

"Greetings, Flamewhisker," they join in the fray, easy and polite. Lizardthroat seems ever-eager to answer instead of giving the ThunderClan apprentice a chance, and it is amusing enough not to warrant anything that'd kill the mood. Leisurely meetings at borders are something to be cherished, not fumbled.

Mirepurr turns to Plumpaw then; how odd, to have both their new and previous apprentice with them. Her cloud-like fluff of a pelt only makes their smile grow as they look at her. "You might've heard of her already. She's the deputy of ThunderClan."

A roiling path of blackened asphalt lie between the pair and Shadowclan, as though it had been paved in pitch darkness, likely taken from the last throes of twilight and woven intrusively upon the greenery. The blue tortoiseshell apprentice had heard of monsters before - great, snarling beasts with paws of onyx and eyes of sun-glow - and shivered at their name. Flamewhisker had instructed her to stay within the treeline, and she duly listened, for she did not want to catch the attention of a stray monster. They hardly strayed beyond the Thunderpath, but knowing her luck, they would surely make a quick detour for her bird-bone body. Merlinpaw had been about to answer Flamewhisker's question when a Shadowclan cat stole her spotlight, with the rest of them falling out of line of the gloom, as though they had dripped from the surface of sable varnish. They addressed Flamewhisker more than her, though one of them inquired if she had been learning anything. She gave him a brief nod of her head, a rather violent bob compared to the rest of her demure movements. Should I introduce myself here, too? They didn't ask me. But maybe it's nice to do that. What if they didn't want to know, though? Well, I should just try... "M... Merl..." She mewed much quieter this time, as if her voice had been carried away like a fragrance, a mere patch of a scent that would sooner fade than make itself at home. She met so many cats today that it had all begun to conglomerate in her head, sticking and gluing together as it threatened to swallow her whole.
