HOLD YR TERROR CLOSE \ wolfwind

At last, some warriors had pulled through- eagerly bounding up and down, saying they had found a beehive. So much honey had been poured down the throats of the ailed that Berryheart was certain he'd soon run out- it was as if a miracle from the stars had truly been granted. A grateful nod had been offered the warriors' way- they were sustaining the lives of the sick, indirectly. But... they had been quite the excitable kind, and not in the daring manner he needed from a mission like this. Giddy and youthful, rather than brave and passionate. Luckily there was a cat he knew very well who fit the latter criteria.

He had requested Clamours to take a walk with him, promising that it was toward something. When they approached the spot the warriors had described, Berryheart lowered his speckled tail to draw his niece to a stop at his side. It was the faintest sound, but if she listened very, very carefully... she too would be able to hear the buzzing of the beehive. It was most definitely nearby, though too risky to approach without a plan. "Are you afraid of bees?" he asked, explaining no further. Patient, expectant, he waited for her answer- though he imagined he knew what the answer was.

Wolfwind was no champion in the realm of reading others. That difficulty was only further compounded by the straight-face Berryheart conducted himself with at all times. Wolfwind joins him with no particular expectations besides that they were going to something, and she figures that he would reveal that something to her when it's time. Or maybe he never would, and he just wanted an excuse for them to take a walk as family together, that was fine, too. The warrior keeps her ears pricked for any potential rogue sightings, but otherwise only basks in Berryheart's presence. Has she ever told him how well he fits the mysterious medicine cat bill?

When silently, he calls for them to stop, Wolfwind stands to attention, a questioning hm? on her lips. When he suddenly asks if she was afraid of bees, she provides him with contemplative blink. Only when it's mentioned, does she the faint buzzing. Ideas are turning around in her head, but she still can't quite say she gets it. Is this a weird Medicine Cat thing? " Can't say I am, " what kind of warrior would she be if a couple of bugs bothered her? She wasn't ignorant to the stories, of course; stingers and all, but she was niave to the strength of their sting. Whatever Berryheart needed, Wolfwind would get it for him, though. Belatedly, she realizes. " Honey? " she'd always wondered how Berryheart got that stuff.

Unafraid, exactly as he had expected her to be. Approval glittered in his gaze, subtle but there. Pondering his next words gave him pause, enough time for his niece's question to cut through the silence; honey? Though his expressions were ever subtle, and the illness of his apprentice had dampened his demeanour even further, the smile that curved his lopsided lips at that moment was a genuine one. "Exactly," he murmured, eyes breaking from her face to peer through the oak forest- to linger upon the hive. Tenderly, he padded a little closer to it.

"It's a two cat job..." he informed her, nudging a stick closer to her with his nose. Though it went unmentioned, it was likely obvious who Berryheart usually had to help him with this task. His heart grew heavy for a moment, but he took a deep breath to purge the feeling from him. This honey would help Freckles. It would... it could keep them alive. "One indulges in a bit of violence, and a lot of running. The other collects the bounty." Berryheart himself did not mind which task he would end up performing, having done both once upon a time... it was much easier with one cat to run the distraction and another to gather the goods, though.

"Do you have a preference?"
