HONEYTHIEF // herb patrol

Vulturemask prefered to do this solo not liking company. When he went out to search for herbs it was the only time he actually could have a moment to himself which was why he rarely took anyone with him. However today he was left with no other choice because he wanted to collect as much honey as possible before the bees becomes to active. Newleaf was still fresh and early so the weather was still shifting from cold and chilly one day and warmer another, and life around was slowly awakening from their slumber. So it was better to get this done sooner rather than later. Vulturemask wanted to avoid having to get stinged by bees in the future at least make it...fewer.

So he had gathered himself a crew to take along with him while as well with sticks to collect the honey with. Vulturemask would lead the way across the moors to bring them to the place he had found the bee nest when he had been out on one of his herb search before. " We're here." The medicine cat would inform his collected patrol, all of cats he actually not hated but was fond of, more or less. He would point with his nose up towards one of the few trees out here. " The bees have still not yet fully waken up from their slumber, so they are slow and less reactive. Still be careful up there. They can still sting." There was a bit to climb to reach to the branch that was closest to the nest but he was sure it would work out just fine. " You two will stay here on the ground." he told Goldenpaw and Sunflowerpaw before his attention went to Tigerfrost and Periwinklepaw. " Which one of you wanna go first?. " or would they rather want him to?. Vulturemask waited, searching through their expressions.

Bees. Tigerfrost is not so keen on getting stung by the little things, but as the weather began to warm, insects breathed new life into the moor's various flowering plants. And of course... where there were bees, there was also honey. Tigerfrost had agreed to accompany the medicine cat because he understood the importance of insuring Vulturemask had whatever he needed. After all, the healer was responsible for the entire clan's health, a hefty weight to put onto one's shoulders, no doubt. So, for the sake of WindClan, and Vulturemask, he supposed he could take a few of the stingers for himself if it meant insuring the herb storage was well stocked.

He followed quietly, his eyes scanning the tall grasses that they passed through, ears and nose alert, just in case another rogue decided to disregard the borders. No attack came, however, and the whole patrol reached their destination unharmed.

Vulturemask makes his commands, and Tigerfrost peers up the tree trunk, listening for the tell-tale humming of the nest. He supposed he should go first, given his own responsibilities. He just hopes he doesn't fall and break a leg, or worse. WindClan was trained to run, after all, not climb. Tigerfrost certainly had little experience with scaling trees such as this, though he wouldn't dare voice such things. Admitting weakness? He'd sooner just fall onto his own head.

"I'll go up first." The Lead Warrior grunts, grabbing one of the small sticks within his jaws as he approaches the base of the tree. After a few moments of thought on how best to proceed, he sinks his claws into the wood and slowly begins to clamber up into the branches, showering those below with loose bark that tumbles past his scrabbling claws.

i just turned 14 ✧°.☀ ———————————— The wiry tom had been pacing back and forth between each cat in the patrol the whole way up, only somewhat avoiding Tigerfrost in favor of the cats he was more familiar with. He didn't mind seeming eager in front of this group and couldn't even try to play it cool, it was too fun. And as they got to the tree Goldenpaw listened intently to the explanation of the bees lethargic habits at the time of year. He was also fully ready to volunteer himself to climb up first and was about to say just that when Vulturemask told him where he would be for this job. His white chin dropped as he tried to decipher this perceived injustice. "Why?" he tried not to whine as Tigerfrost started his ascend.

.°☀ AND IF IT EVER STARTS TO FEEL BAD, LITTLE FANG

Sunflowerpaw kept their distance from Tigerfrost on the trek out, sticking to the cats they know. Vulturemask, mostly -- they'd love to walk beside Goldenpaw, yet he seems determined to make it difficult weaving in and out of the cats of the group. He seems excited, though, that's good. They are, too! Vulturemask is finally trusting them to help out on his very important medicine cat duties, they couldn't be more thrilled. They walk with a bounce to their step, fluffy tail held high. They listen to his explanation dutifully, committing it to memory. They've never even seen a bee before! It's strange, to think that an insect could hurt a cat. They're so tiny.

Sunflowerpaw follows Vulturemask's instruction with little thought. If they were needed on the ground, then that's where they'd stay. When their brother speaks up, they shoulder him subtly, shoot him a look. He shouldn't be whining, then Vulturemask might not bring them along again!

IT'S EASY TO EXPLAIN 'CAUSE THIS WORLD'S NOT TAME .°☀

STEADY THE RIGHTS AND THE WRONGS
periwinklepaw | 08 months | demi-boy | he/they | physically easy (pacifist) | mentally easy | attack in bold #ccccff
Periwinklepaw has only climbed a tee once before. It had been idle curiosity - the desperate need to know if he could. It hadn't been to bad, though clumsy and uncertain in his movement's he'd been successful enough. He'd even managed to stumble his way back down without harm.

Having to do so again though is unsettling. And to brave a bees nest of all things-? He does not volunteer first; standing beside goldenpaw and sunflowerpaw instead, tail flicking back and forth slowly, an outlet for his nervous energy. Clear gaze follows tigerfrosts every movement like a hawk - they might not be friends in any way, but he doesn't think he'd wish the other any harm. Besides, it'll be good to see how to do it for his own attempt. "How are we s-s-supp-posed to c-collect it?" he questions softly.
