*+:｡.｡ "So, you and my sister?" Tawnyclaw breaks the silence of a peaceful morning patrol with a quick punch, eager to chat about the juicy gossip. The man hadn't been very great at keeping up to date with his siblings' lives, always prioritizing a hiding spot in the trees rather than seeing the bonding potential joining his siblings on patrol could bring. A part of him wanted to fix that longstanding mistake. A louder part of him was glad to keep the distance at arm's length. But talking to Edenberry about Cherryblossom? That didn't count, surely.
"Honestly, who would've expected you two would hitch" he did, not to brag or nothin' but he totally called it when they were younger. Sure, sure, anyone with eyes would've called it, but Tawnyclaw is taking the win anyway. He's a fortune teller. Snickering to himself, he lifts his gaze to study the paler-coated feline beside him, walking in step. "How's the mate life been?" he asks, probing but not entirely interested. If Edenberry starts gushing about how sweet and precious his sister is, Tawnyclaw doesn't doubt he'll throw up. Cherryblossom is a hard cat to look at as being soft.
After a moment, though, Tawnyclaw considers the line of questioning he's dropping on poor Edenberry. Studying them once more, Tawnyclaw finally amends, "How're you doing, Eden?"
